"So perish all scum!"

Said after Dredd offs the Vigilante in one of the Daily Stars Dreddstrips collected in Judge Dredd Annual 1990.
The Justice department has a good re-education programme-it's called five to ten in the cubes.

I'm quite often heard snarling at people - in Dredd's voice - 'You're takin' the long ride!' and 'we're gonna lock you up and throw away the key!' - and even sometimes 'LIFE! With NO remission!'

All of the above were featured in the Dredd Vs Death game, and have caught on as in-jokes with family and friends.

For the record, i think whoever voiced Dredd in that game nailed it. As far as I'm concerned, that IS Dredd's voice!

Steve Potter on the lettering there, I notice. Reading the Complete Nemesis Vol I book, I'm struck by what a fantastic letterer Steve was, and the contribution he made to the way 2000AD looked right the way through its 'Golden Age'.

Cheers!

HdE, the voice of Dredd in the Dredd v Death video game is ALSO the voice of Dredd (and Wulf Sternhammer) in the Twoth audios from Big Finish.  Toby Longworth.  I think it was Pete Well's? entry in the advent calender thread where he reprises the role.

He really IS Dredd for me.  I doubt anybody else can suppplant his voice in my mind.....

Inferno? Disqualified because Inferno never happened.

Not from Inferno.  This quote is from the referendum story when Grice and others tried to kill Dredd.

Umm, yeah, we kinda went through all that in this very thread, concluding with my acknowledgement below:

Radiator, TB, you're quite right and I'm wrong. I couldn't get past that piece of excrescence that is Inferno, nor the blighted shadow that Millar and Morrison cast across this country's greatest comic strip since Dan Dare.

Cheers!

Ah! Thanks for that! Interesting bit of info. I've never been one for audio stories, so I wouldn't have known if you hadn't said.

But yeah - the crazy thing is, I always imagined that was how Dredd would sound even BEFORE hearing the voice.

Quote'umm synthi-sausage' is my regular internal dialogue when faced with a banger.
Ha, mine too!  On a not-specifically-Dredd-but-still-MC1-food note, have also taught TordelBoy the Hottie song ('Long and smelly/tastes like welly/lies for months inside your belly'.  Also the Oscar Mayer Wiener song, but that's another franchise entirely..).
Sometimes I will pass up on a more interesting lunch choice from the works canteen just so I can say "Gimme the pie."

Not really a Dreddism, but I did use 'Dok! What a bimbo!' the other day.
