Title: BARNEY -- Keeper of the 2000 AD database
Post by: Wake on 17 September, 2008, 04:09:49 PM
I've been given permission to create a fan site accessing the 2000 AD Online database. At the moment, it's basically a trimmed down version of 2000 AD Online.

BARNEY (//http://www.2000ad.org/)

Please let me know if anything's broken, missing or superfluous.

Wake

Thanks for bringing this back.

However, the 2000ad links under cover story appear to be broken. The Meg ones are fine though.

My old iBook is now basically used for playing DVDs, because its not powerful enough any more. Assuming the same kinda thing happens in the future, Barney's probably being used by some poor Judge for email and admin, with said Judge going "Don't crash... ARRGGHHH!" at regular intervals, shortly before throwing yet another purchase order at their manager.

Is it running Barney Home or Barney premium Edition? I'd recommend installing Barney SP2 if you have any unexplained death problems.

Nice one Wake!

Thanks Wake.
I really miss the old site.
Barney fills the lack of info the new site has. (Still not working)
Keep up the good work.

Rebellion have just sent me a stack of cover images, so I've just brought BARNEY (//http://www.2000ad.org/) up to date, apart from the latest Zarjaz and Dogbreath which should be added soon.

Got them - but since I'm about to spend the next 24 hours in a field (//http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main/w-uptonhouse), the update will have to wait until Sunday night or Monday.

Cheers,

I can do but isn't there a more recent thread about Barney where everyone chipped in to get it up to date?

Couldn't say Emparaura. I took the first link I found. Bolt sends some updates on this one. Or at least informs wake he's done it. Maybe he knows. I think a good link would be resourceful though.

Didn't know where to post this...

I'm a BIG fan of the BARNEY database but don't know who to tell if you find an error. Hopefully if I post it here it'll find its way to the right person:

Judge Dredd 11 (DC) shows the story title as being part 2 of the 'Dredd End' story but it was its own story entitled 'Dredd Again' (I've added the link below if anyone's interested)

Cheers

I notice from the link that there is a note mentioning "Part 2 titled Dredd Again." Is it definitely a separate story rather than just a subtitle for the second part? I don't own these but should be able to update if someone can adjudicate.

On another note: JH Williams drew Dredd? Who knew? There's not many artists who can get me to buy a comic by themselves but he's one of them.

Each issue of the previous long story arc (48 Hours: a two day story) has a separate episode title beneath that heading. Issues 10, 11 and 12 all follow on from each other, but there's no such heading to indicate that they form part of a larger story. And yes, JH Williams's art on those stories is worth tracking down - if he'd been on the book from the start things might have worked out a little differently.

Also the text story Radical Cheek needs to be listed under the Judge Dredd Annual 1990 entry.

Is there any chance that the fan fiction section might be reactivated, as it doesn't seem possible to access the stories that were there...
