I bought the (excellent) 2k miniatures from Foundry a few months ago. I enquired this morning if there were any more in the pipeline and this was the response :-
I'm happy to say that there are more 2000AD models being produced - I've
seen "greens" for another (younger) version of Slaine, Ukko, Hammerstein, a
few more Judges (including Psi-Judge Anderson) and a few others. We can't
release these models until we have approval from the guys at 2000AD (one of
the licensing agreements) but as soon as we get the go ahead we'll release
them.
I can't seem to reply to the original thread for some reason.
Sorry I didn't get back to you yesterday. I'll definitely send it tonight. Do you want it in colour or b&w?
Wils
Some of the new figures are now available! This from the man at Foundry :-
I've been reliably informed that
you can now actually order (by phone only, at the moment) two new packs of
pre-casts - "Hammerstein" and "Slaine & Ukko".
Tel 0115 841 3000
But... did they mention the postage?
Yeh its usually ?5 a go.
Still I'm tempted, just so I can say I've got 'em when no one else has. That's pretty sad really.
nb got ure cd copies pvs, in the post tmrw..
I've decided to buy multiple packs of the original set so I can sell on the spares for, say, ?10 including postage. If this works I'll do the same with the future packs.
Cheers,
Wake
Any chance of you (or the shop) getting a few of these new 'pre-order' figures in ?? The postage from Foundry is a real killer.
Me, yes. The shop, no.
Email me if you want to buy the original set of 4, or the new Hammerstein figure or Slaine+Ukko for ?10 for each of the 3 packs including UK postage.
The new figs aren't out until next week, so I haven't ordered any yet.
Cheers,
Wake
Wake, is the Hammerstein figure on its own for ?8.50 (before any post)? It must be huge right? Tell me it's huge.
But Slaine and Ukko for ?8.50? Ukko's a wee fella and Slaine, unless he's in massive warp out mode, isn't exactly massive?
Anyone have any preview pics, with scale?
The new Foundry Fantasy figures are nearer 1/48th scale (36mm) than 1/60th (28-30mm), and a friend who has the 2000AD ones reckon they're about the same.
I'm going to the Colours show next week, so I'll give you a report, K?
Oh, and Foundry prices beggar belief. If they can do two elves and a couple of teeny tiny cherubs for ?8.50, they can sure as hell do Slaine and Ukko...
I have seen the new Foundry models and they look awesome. Dredd is a complete new sculpt with daystick and looks very mean and slick and to be honest young in the face. The Slaine is a younger version of the warrior, complete with axe and is far better than the previous model. Hammerstien rocks, the figure is huge and looks the dogs as they say, and in my own opinion is the best white metal 2000AD model I have ever seen. I will be posting images of all three of the new models on Dredd Times as soon as I get the go ahead from Foundry.
Trust me they look fantastic.

I didn't know the original Foundry 2000 AD figures had even been released, and I was the fookin' editor when they were being designed. Wonderful marketing, eh?
So much for making 2000 AD a household name.
I have some preview pics of Slaine and Hammerstien and Dredd and got my samples this morning but till I get the all-clear from Foundry I cant post them in any form (including emails sorry :()
But to answer a few questions here if I can.
1. The miniatures are 28mm scale and with Slaine standing some 5cm tall and 2.5 wide, Ukko is much smaller only around 3cm tall. Hammerstien is huge and a single piece casting (ie needs no parts gluing on) and stands almost 6cm tall and from his hammer to his fist on the other arm he is 6cm wide.
2. Not exactly sure of the price of the miniatures but I suspect that they will be ?8.50 with the usual postage from Foundry (around ?7 unless you bulk order). I will find out tomorrow.
3. The next two figures are Dredd with Daystick and a Young Slaine, and Slaine the Horned God. The Slaine figures will coincide with the release of the roleplaying game from Mongoose Publishing (out now) and look great.
There are some more figures planned to be released as soon as Rebellion give the green light and there is loads of cool stuff to look out for. I will post updates on the board when I get them from Paul Watson (Foundry's webdude and all round cool guy) and will of course update both Dredd Times and Gamers Web with the information and images when I get the all clear.
Hope this helps.

So has anyone got these yet?
What are they like?
Well, they didn't have any precasts at Colours, which was a disappointment.
Incidentally, two observations of what was my first wargames fair:
1. It's nice to be the best looking and best dressed person in a large building. It doesn't happen much.
2. I have never seen so much facial hair in one place in my life. What is it about wargamers and beards?
Wood, I work in a Comix Shoppe, and I get both of those all the time!
mat
Except when I'm in the Shoppe, of course, Mat. :p
I'm a wargamer and a comics fan so its doubly strange that I havent got a beard and wash regularly (Sunday night is bath night come what may!).
But there are a lot of weirdy beardys out there. I was at Salute in May earlier this year (where I got the 2k figures from) and it was full of them. Scary stuff - hope DreddCon won't be like that...

I was a at a meeting of a local sci-fi club years ago when I was tagged by along haired, bearded guy who was under the delusion he was a Klingon. He had made working replicas of the Klingon's edged weapons and was keen to show me his 'fighting skills'. Noticing that I hadn't fled or backed away (like most sensible folk), he then tried to get me to join him in a fight - if I won, I would be made a Klingon. I can't remember how I got out of that one, but later that day, the freak was kicked out of the club for attacking somebody with his two handed blade. It took a while for the club's organisers to pluck up the courage to ask him to leave :)

GAH!

And yet Rebellion have told me they've okayed them...so I'm working on a page with new images. Perhaps Rebellion haven't told Foundry...
Wake
The new page is up, complete with pics of the Slaine/Ukko and Hammerstein packs. I also have pics of a new Dredd, young Slaine and Slaine the Horned God which will go up when I know how they will be packaged.

Wooo.... I'm not so impressed with the Slaine fig, but I love that Hammerstein...
Yep looking good. I'll hang on for an order until I've seen the rest of the pre-casts tho,.
Wood, i think that slaine just has a bad hair paint job, on the bare metal figure 9see wakes link) it looks pretty good, just not painted right, makes him look like he's a drag queen.
Here's a pic of Hammerstein alongside the new Judge Dredd figure.

Here is a pic of the new Dredd miniature with Daystick its a little large so sorry in advance.

and this is the younger version of Slaine McRoth

Good to see that one of the liscencing agreements is that Tharg gets the final go-ahead, that way no crap gets sifted through.
How big are they, height-wise?
Hi Tu-plang,
I think you may have missed my post on this thread further up (13th from the top) which has the exact dimensions near as damn it to Slaine, Ukko and of course Hammerstien. Dredd stands the same sizes roughly as the last miniature around 2.5 cm tall. All the models have an intergal base, unlike those from Games Workshop where the figure slides into a plastic base, and Slaine, Ukko and Hammerstien all have their names emmbossed on the front of their bases.
Will have a full review of the models and painting guide on Dredd Times as soon as I finish them.

ah, ta.
Steve Jackson Games are releasing some Hellboy mini's :-
Hmmm.
Looks down to Jackson's usual standard.
For those of you interested in such things, there's an excellent debate on the current state of Foundry Miniatures and their ludicrous postage charges etc here.

I hope Foundry are going to release some Judge minatures with the Judges using Lawgiver MKII's as so far both of their Dredd minatures have had Lawgiver MKI's. I'd also love to see a Judge minature armed with a Widowmaker.
HiEX
Fans bitching about how the product isn't as good as it used to be, slagging off the company, complaining about the price and workers revolting...
All eerily familiar
Incidently they did have many good points, too expensive, crappy postage deals and having to wait till they've got about eight packs ready before they release them for general consumption..
Wave goodbye to just over two quid a figure, say hello to ?4-?8.50 a figure. Though I appreciate they are bigger in size.
That said, very nice figures and I do want them, but the above issues just induce hand wringing and wailing while I decide whether I should get them. I think thy would tend to put off anyone but the most fervant.
Hmm.....considering the Judge Dredd RPG has been out for several months now, I do think that Foundry are being very slow releasing minatures for it. Where the heck are the Judges on Lawmasters? All we've had so far are two Dredd figures, and wasn't one of them a limited edition only release?
IIRC Games Workshop was much quicker at pumping out minatures when they had their Dredd RPG going back in the 80's.
HiEx
I now have multiple 2000AD Preview packs to sell at ?10 each including postage.
The preview pack contains Judge Dredd, Slaine, Johnny Alpha, and Mean Machine.
I also have 1 spare Hammerstein and 1 spare Slaine+Ukko, so these will go to the first person/people to email me who also want a preview pack.
