Quite a sensible article that examines the practicalities of John Probe's enhancements using today's technology.

Prog / 1794 - Warzone!
28 July, 2012, 11:36:41 AM
Loved it. Every single page. The last three progs have been oozing thrill power and I'm really into all five stories.

The "KRAKK" on page four of Aquila got an audible "yooooowwwch" from me.

It was pleasing to see the aftermath of the destruction of the Statue of Judgement fitted so neatly into Lenny Zero.

One-word review: FRAKAKAKAKOOOOM!  :D

Thrilled by recent Dredd I just got my hands on My Name is Death, which I hadn't previously read. We last see Anderson in a coma, then she turns up in the Megazine fighting robot city blocks. What did I miss, and where was it?

Games / Carmageddon Reincarnation
16 May, 2012, 06:36:26 PM
I'm sure there's a lot of love around here for the Carmageddon games. Well, the creators have reclaimed the rights and are working on a new version. They're seeking funding through Kickstarter so they can keep it out of the hands of 'The Man'.

Books & Comics / 1001 Comics to Read Before You Die
05 January, 2012, 07:58:14 PM
I saw this in Waterstones today, half price! I had a quick flick through and Button Man, Nemesis, America and the Apocalypse War are in there. Dredd even gets the cover spot.  :D

I'm regretting not buying it now.

Good Old Games have a number of Rebellion PC games at half price this weekend, including Dredd vs Death.

Just in case anyone's interested in snagging a bargain.

Help! / Megazine numbering
02 August, 2011, 11:03:54 PM
Hello, I'm filling some gaps in my collection (again) and I've hit the point where the Megazine went from vol4.18 to somewhere in the 200s. As far as I can tell from what I have and the back issues available is:

4.18
4.19 ?
??
201
202
etc

Have I missed any?

General / Dr Who reference in Caballistics?
27 May, 2011, 08:01:10 PM
I've finally got all the episodes of the first run of Caballistics and a couple of things struck me.

Firstly, when you have enough concurrent episodes to make sense of the plot it really is as good as people say.  :D

Secondly, robot Yetis in the London Underground. Is that a sly reference to the Pertwee era Dr Who story The Yeti? I'm sure this has been discussed to death years ago but I was on hiatus then.

Help! / Nikolai Dante collected volumes - how many?
10 April, 2010, 11:07:47 AM
Help me please. With Dante
and Jena getting engaged
the time has come for a complete re-read. I have a gap in my back progs where some of the pirate stuff should be and I'm looking at buying the collected volumes but I'm finding it hard to work out how many there should be. I can find more on Amazon than I can in this site's shop. I wish they'd put numbers on these.

Would somebody be kind enough to post a list of the Nikolai Dante books please?

Website and Forum / I just noticed...

If you watch the animated banner at the top of the new website, Finnigan Sinister and Zenith occasionally peek over the others' shoulders.  ;D

Other Reviews / Heavy Metal Dredd - a question
24 April, 2009, 07:56:32 AM
I see from my latest copy of the Meg that a new edition of the Heavy Metal Dredd collection is to be published. I also noticed when perusing an older copy that the original HMD book contained some strips that were never published in the Megazine. Does anybody know if these are in the latest edition too?

Welcome to the board / Howdy!
06 February, 2009, 06:12:50 PM
Before I start spewing my ramblings all over the review threads I thought I'd take a moment to say hello. I was a bit late to 2000ad and the Meg, starting at 1872 (or was it 1782?) with a free Rogue Trooper poster and Judge Dredd on The Sugar Beat.  Financial constraints led to an enforced hiatus shortly after the change to the narrower format and some Oriental guy in a red kimono, but I came back a couple of years ago to find that Sinister and Dexter were dead (and the inevitable 'oh no they weren't' a few months later) and a new Rico was on the streets.

Thanks to a loosely enforced interwebs policy at work I've been lurking here for a week or two, catching up on the old threads and now I've taken the plunge. :-)

I'm with Rowdy Yates Block! Who are you with?
