I've always struggled with painting so I'm trying to teach myself to do it; in a bid to do that I did an oil sketch of a mate today, basically monochrome, transparent oxide red with titanium white to lighten it and french ultramarine here and there to push it towards black...almost gave up and called it a day at the ugly stage but persevered.
