Looks good, eh? Ray Frenden tweeted this link to another user review a couple of days back.

Seems very promising. Might take the plunge....when they come back in stock!  :D

Oooh... I've never even heard of these.

I worry that I'd still spend quite a lot on it and be hyper-aware it's not a Wacom though. I've never had good experiences with non-Wacom tablets.

Be interesting to get a test-drive on one.

According to the UK Amazon website you can buy one for £549 yet it's $569 dollars from the US about £355. Might be better off buying it from the US as I did with my version of photoshop though I'm not sure about various import charges they love to spring on you.

Looks excellent but I'll stick to my old Wacom as I'm too old to change.

Veeeeeery tempting. It's about time Wacom had some decent tablet competition -  not that I can fault much about their products, but it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if they had to start making their prices a wee bit more competitive.

Now, that's awesome!

I was deliberating over selling my beloved Gibson Les Paul to get ahold of a Cintiq next year - but so long as performance on these is up to scratch, I could probably bite the bullet and spend the wages from my next few lettering gigs on one.

It'd be interesting to get a few more opinions on this unit.

Same here - I'm nowhere near in the green enough to even afford this but it's a great b-day present thought....

That's the old model isn't it? The new one is £629 + £30 delivery.

I've heard that the previous model had a few serious technical problems that the newer one ironed out. So, be sure to order the latest model, obviously. ;-)

Ludicrous price difference between the US and UK stores there. Can't find any other store.

If it's a VAT-rateable item (it is) then UK VAT is due at 20% on entry to the country. If you (or the vendor) don't declare that there's VAT payable when it hits UK Customs, then you're essentially gambling on whether HMRC take a look at the package or not. If they do, then you'll be presented with a bill for the VAT, if you don't then you'll have 'got away with it', although knowingly avoiding VAT is a criminal offence.*

Cheers

Jim

It's not even a gamble as they charge you an automatic 8 quid "handling" fee for inspecting packages these days, Jim, so they stop pretty much everything.

Was looking at getting a Cintiq 13HD with my works bonus in September, but....Talking of Cintiq alternatives, Huion have a new one coming out soon. The inclusion of 'hotkeys'  has me very interested...

Here's a vid from Frendans unboxing and he's promised a review vid soon. (maybe this week...)
