..er... it behoves me to slip quietly from out of the Quag to inform fans of the splundig Space Spinner 2000 cast that Conrad himsef returns the favour and joins us Where Eagles Dare for a Very Special Special eaglesode flung into the podosphere within hours of this latest SS2k.

Conrad's clearly got the hang of the UK comic form. But can anything prepare him for an Eagle photostrip?

Squelching off again now...

Helltrekkers made it onto Tharg's list of the 16 worst stories ever to appear in 2000AD (in a special in the prog's 16th year).

Haha, I don't know about that. I find it to be delightfully depressing!

Tell me about it!

My Avatar includes my name! Was years before I got the joke, but I bloody loved Helltrekkers, me.

Sorry for the thread necromancy, I came here looking for King Cobra! I believe Domini was supposed to be Nicky Wire, wasn't he? Hence the Manics tshirt?

Just bloody gutted to read this this morning. Dillon's art was easy to aspire to, but reliably more complex than its his clean lines and nice black and white balancing suggested. As others have said already, completely unexpected, and 54 is no age to go. Thank God his prodigious start and Transatlantic success means his talents and influence won't be forgotten.

Cool. Looks like the Venusian word for mother is also the Maori word for mother - 'Whaea'?* Is there something Mister Edginton is planning, what with the facial markings (which strike me as more Mike Tysonish than the 'genuine' Ta Moko) too?

The word for father is 'Papa' in both, but somehow a little less impressive.

[Pronunciation of Whaea is sort of close to 'fa-eh-a' but with the F sound made between near-touching lips rather than th top teeth and bottom lip, for those of you playing at home]

Hi, Mr Christ.

Apologies for the thread necromancy, but if you're still wondering, I reckon it'd be Melissa Etheridge's 'I Want to Come Over'

Actor and transgender activist Alexis Arquette.

Arquette appeared in around 50 movies, and it surprises me how many I've seen (and I'm not a frequent movie-goer), from the light and popular Wedding Singer to the hip Pulp Fiction and the downright bleak Last Exit to Brooklyn. Special mention, the less-known NZ gothic thriller Jack Be Nimble which seems to have been a rare leading role.

I see what he's trying to do with the URL. But all I can think of when I see it is: What's a Bootle Gun?

Isn't it, though?

I can't believe the stuf those guys do with simple styrene sheet and plasticard. There's also a very impressive Mek-Quake made with similar materials by another regular on the boards:

You're not! I remember it too. My folks used to tape each episode for me to watch the following day (because it was on at a RIDICULOUS hour in sleepy Devon.)

The blonde Aussie guy's name was Jetto.

Oi! Jacko. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_%22Jacko%22_Jackson.

I remember this, vaguely. One of a small number of late 80/early 90s US TV riffs on mid-career Mel Gibson hits (Highwayman=Mad Max, Max Monroe - Loose Cannon=Lethal Weapon)

Yeah I think they should make a film about a minor character in the Judge Dredd universe, how about a film about Maria? You could just make it about Judge Dredd's cleaning lady - Rob Schneider could play her.

What would be so good about that is you would not have the stigma of 2 Dredd flops attached to it, and also you would not have to tell an action story. In fact you could tell a slice of life drama. get Pedro Almodovar to direct it!

I think we are onto a winner lads.

Now . . . . . about that funding.

It's got everything - robot wars, block madness, pasta - I'm In!!
