There's also a clash in 2071: "Judge Morton Judd proposes that 'model' citizens are cloned using the same techniques that have been used to produce Judges. The idea is firmly rejected by the Fargo". Wasn't Fargo in sus-an at that point?

Ditto. I've a spare lurking.

On the merge front, merging two ongoing threads of this sort will just cause a mess, so I don't think any mod's likely to do so.

Mm. That's my one concern with the platform. Previously, it was easy enough to extract files and make a CBR (I did this with a couple of series I bought, because I prefer Comic Zeal to the Comics app), but that's now much harder, due to the manner in which files are named in the app bundle.

Yup, Clickwheel's no longer on the App Store. Still, last time I checked it hadn't been updated since 2008, so no great loss. Frankly, I'm surprised the company's still avoiding Comixology, despite every other major publisher jumping in to some extent. I realise there are financial considerations (Comixology's cut isn't small), but more distribution has to be better than less, as does visibility in a highly-rated and hugely popular app.

It's a film by Bay, so: no. About the only thing I liked there was it looked a lot like Laserbeak was in there. Otherwise: bleh.

Quote from: Radbacker on 08 February, 2011, 03:15:10 AMOoh my favorite computer game mag these days had no idea you were a contributor Indigo
Since issue 19, and almost every issue after that. I did the Civ 2 and Deathchase pieces in the current issue, and Jr. Pac-Man the month before.

Quotewhats your favorite old machine?
Old arcade games (pre-1984), swiftly followed by the C64.

QuoteOne of the only mags i read from cover to cover these days, quality writting and just enough of that 80's vibe to make it feel like i'm a kid again dreaming of all these exotic machines we didn't have in oz.
Well, one thing Retro Gamer certainly has is a lot of original editorial content. Most games mags are reviews, news and PR dressed as features. I'm not sure there's another videogaming publication currently in existence with as much proper investigative journalism as Retro Gamer.

I'd be surprised if that's the same Steve Brown—doesn't look much like his art style.

So they are including all the Meg Dredds too then?  This I did not know but if so it is good.
Well, they're including some of them. America was notably absent from a recent Case Files, for example. (And, no, I don't agree with the argument that America wasn't a Dredd story.) Here's hoping they switch the Meg/2000 AD stuff for a few volumes, so the 2000 AD crud becomes 'bonus' content.

I've interviewed Steve a couple of times for Retro Gamer. I don't recall him ever mentioning working for 2000 AD though.

LotF largely follows the film's continuity, which is similar to but not identical to the comic's (set in a different year; smaller city; different origins). The DC Dredds I only read once (which was more than enough), but there were, confusingly, two series. One was started off by Wagner and largely adhered to 2000 AD Dredd's continuity, but the other started life in the late 1990s, and Dredd ended up getting 'frozen' for a number of years, thawed out towards the 22nd Century. The main continuity issue was that Dredd wasn't Dredd: the character didn't feel right and didn't act anything like you'd expect him to.

As you're aware, MP figures aren't that meaningful unless you've got a good lens, and the iPhone 4 has a very good lens. I'm looking forward to the iPhone 5, so my 3GS can hit eBay.

Quote from: Professah Byah on 02 February, 2011, 06:49:36 PMNot to play devil's advocate for piracy or anything, but what does that mean exactly for free pirated scans?  Will they be filtered out somehow by the reading software, and if so, won't that just persuade those looking for a cheaper option to just go with one of the products from Apple's competitors that'll display anything?
Eh? It's not like Comic Zeal has suddenly stopped working. Apple's mildly stupid change of heart only 'forces' publishers who allow bought content to also enable direct in-app payments as well. Comixology already does this, but Kindle could find it tough to meet this restriction.

Quote from: gmanrocks on 03 February, 2011, 12:29:08 PMAlso, has anyone ever read Armageddon? Someone mentioned it was a prequel to the entire Dredd Universe, but i must of totally missed that one.
I imagine quite a few people caught it as a floppy with a recent Meg. It was supposedly intended to be a series that led up to the era of the Judges, but that all stopped when 2000 AD's owners realised Dredd's history would have been a creator-owned story. What's left is a very odd standalone.
