Any fans of this epic series on here?
I understand I'm about half way through the story as I treated myself to the omnibus editions and they are a thing of beauty.
I was just wondering if anyone has read the original illustrated Novel, the comics came from. It seems to be out of print.

General / Comic and book storage ideas?
18 July, 2021, 07:27:30 PM
Just wondering if any of you lovely people would be willing to share tips as how you store your collections to maximize storage space etc.
Do you have a designated thrill power storage unit in your home where you an show off your collection in its entirety? or is it a case of storing comics and books in spaces where you can find free space (as im currently doing).

I have really enjoyed getting back into these over the last couple of years. There have been some great titles recently and some sublime Ian Kennedy covers to boot for the 60th anniversary of this title.

Love the character and comics and the 3 films thus far for all their different merits and faults. Feel i can trust the verdict of the great folks on here. Is it any good?

Was a big fan of these as a kid before i even got into 2000AD. They seem to be making a bit of a comeback with re-releases and new titles being released. There is even a current 'Freeway Fighter' comic which i cant rate highly enough. Tharg the mighty has kindly allowed some of his best droids to work on these!

Haven't read the books this series is based on but just watched final episode of the first series and I cannot wait for the second that's been commissioned.

Its a fantastic cross generation tale spanning the wild west to the early 20th century cattle/oil Barron family. Don't want to put any spoilers here but if you liked 'Dances with wolves', 'Last of the Mohicans', or 'Dallas' you will love this! It really does kind of blend them in rather well.

Missionary Man was one of the first stories of Dredd's World that made me acquire missing back issues etc to see what I missed. Always loved the stories and artwork by all involved. Massive fan of Gordon Rennies work in particular.
Any of you good folk long for its return or are you happy the way it last wrapped up?

Myself id like to see it return, but I'm biased in that I love the Western 'Cursed Earth' stories and I'm already happy to hear of Cursed Earth Koburn coming back. Be cool to see him, Missionary man and Dredd meet up. Anyone think this be cool?

Just wondering what you good folks on the board think about this ? Never seen an episode but new series has me intrigued. Should I give it a go?

Absolutely loved the original series of this as a kid. It still stands up pretty well today. Just wondering if anyone caught Series 2 they released on Dvd couple of years ago? Any good?

General / How did you first get into 2000ad?
16 April, 2017, 07:18:42 PM
For me it was my zarjaz Uncle Noel leaving me his progs when he visited us on trips over from Emerald Isle. I used to admire the artwork and think they were rather cool. I only really started getting the Prog and Meg regularly around 1993 and 1994.

General / Readership numbers of Prog and Meg?
16 April, 2017, 07:13:30 PM
Was discussing with mates the other day the sales of various American titles needed to keep those titlesw running or renewed. Was just wondering the average sales of the Prog and Meg in 2017.
I know we have a very dedicated and loyal fan base, but it must be strong to sanction partworks like the awesome Mega collection and the hopefully upcoming 2000ad Partwork which is undergoing a trial.

General / Floyd Kermode - What happened to him?
31 March, 2017, 04:04:53 PM
Hi folks, just been doing a reread of some old progs and looking at some old letters pages the Earthlet Floyd Kermode who lived in Japan seemed to suddenly stop writing his very regular letters into the Prog. Still relatively new to this board was just wondering if anyone knew where he went as a he was a very prolific writer to the Tharg over the years. Used to enjoy reading his thoughts on all things 2000ad much like I do with you good people on this forum.

General / Brigand Doom? Any fans?
25 March, 2017, 06:22:20 PM
Alright folks.

I only ever caught Brigand Doom towards end of his 2000ad run when I started getting the prog every week. Just wondering what those readers that caught whole story thought of it. Any chance of it returning as ive been told it never officially concluded?

Film & TV / Star Trek - Enterprise
18 March, 2017, 04:53:10 PM
How we doing folks?

Just wondering if anyone else thinks 'Enterprise' is rather underrated? Some episodes featuring the 'Borg' and 'Ferengi' are pretty good I thought having only caught them for the first time recently. Watched the show for first couple of Seasons when it on Channel 4 but like a lot of folk lost track of it during the convoluted later seasons.

Did not however like the Final episode one iota.

Books & Comics / IDW Judge Dredd Annual
12 March, 2017, 06:45:09 PM
Has anyone read this? I never understood American comics annuals coming out this time of year in the first place. What's the reason? More importantly has anyone read this? Aside from the Matt Smith IDW Dredd I haven't been the biggest fan of IDW Dredd on the whole, and yet I've collected them all lol.
I'm really hoping there is an improvement in this annual and the upcoming 'Blessed Earth' Dredd series to justify my finances being stretched.

Hi folks, just wondering what any fans think of this spin off after the first 2 series. Personally thought series 2 was a blinder and I find it a very different show to the TWD. Cant wait for series 3! :-)

Just wondering if anyone else remembers this underrated show. Have recently rediscovered this on DVD and it really stands up well from what as i remeber as a kid. Shame it was so short lived with only 13 episodes. Hasbro apparently are optioning this for a film adaption.  :)

Anyone reading this. Its the only monthly Marvel title i'm currently collecting and I must say its fab. Nearly up there with the classic Ennis run for me. Always been a big fan of Punisher but the last 2-3 years have seen a great run for the character.   :)

Anyone reading this?
Must say i'm enjoying this. Big fan of GI Joe, M.A.S.K, and Action Man as a kid growing up in blighty. Have never heard of ROM or Micronauts but am enjoying discovering them for first time.
Hasbro/IDW are planning a movie franchise with these characters in shared 'Universe' and they plan to bring back the 1980's 'Visionaries' cartoon into this as well.
Certainly enjoying this a lot more than recent DC/Marvel crossovers of last few years which i just cant be bothered to follow with their convoluted story lines.   :)
