There have been a flurry of Dredd Heads posted to Facebook recently, originally spurred on by Steven Austin, I believe. Here's another from me.

The vibe I get from this is Trevor Hairsine circa Wilderlands. That's meant as a compliment!

Wow, thank you very much!

Lovely stuff, folks. Can't remember if I posted this one already? I couldn't see it flicking back through the posts. Procreate, Apple Pencil:

Cheers!

So following my original post of the Dredd profile on my FB page, Brian Bolland stopped by and tweaked my original image leaving this on my wall with the message, "I think he needs a fatter lip". :)
At one LSCC talk, Bolland said that Dredd's lip should protrude further than his chin. I prefer it the other way round but who am I to argue with one of the best Dredd artists ever?

Lukas Kraina

that's insanely good! love your colors

Thanks, Steve! Means a lot... :-)

I'm using Procreate on an iPad Pro with Apple Pencil -- easily the nicest digital drawing experience I've found so far.

(Also working analogue... I'll do a Dredd head in markers shortly.)

Cheers!

It's all right, that's in every contract.
That's what they call a sanity clause.
You can't fool me, there ain't no sanity clause.

After seeing the lovely inks and colours you guys were throwing at yours I thought i'd have a bash at mine.

Mardroid

That's wonderful Steven. I love the light reflection shading effect on the helmet in particular.

Hawkmumbler

Prog cover worthy, Steven. You utterly talented bunch, who would have thought a whole thread dedicated to head and shoulders would have been so delightful!

SuperSurfer

Stunning, Steven. You make it look easy.

I couldn't resist...
