That list illustrates my point well. It would only need one book slotted in between the exisiting volume and the proposed Shamballa collection, and you're back on track to having a complete run.

I love Ranson's work as much as the next man (perhaps more) and can't wait to see it on the glossy paper of the trades - I just don't see why so much is being skipped.

I suppose if t he collection has a "3" on the spine, then if sales are good, a "2" collection could be slotted in at a later date.

Might cause some extra internet interest too (releasing book 3... "where's book 2?")

I emailed Jon a few months ago and suggested that he look again into the stories that the "Shamballa" book, as listed, seems likely to skip.  Particularly Leviathan's Farewell needs to be included - it's referenced in the train scene in Shamballa - but I certainly hope we see The Mind of Edward Bottlebum as well, which features some very gorgeous Gibson artwork.

Just for a bit of fun, I've put together the following list.(Can you tell I'm a completist?)

STRONTIUM DOG: THE KREELER CONSPIRACY
We know this book is on the plans, running at 190 pages, but what about increasing the page count and including...

Kreeler Conspiracy Part 1 8 episodes (Progs 1174 to 1180) 84 pages
Kreeler Conspiracy Part 2 5 episodes (Progs 1195 to 1199) 30 pages
Roadhouse 8 episodes (Progs 1300 to 1307) 54 pages
The Tax Dodge 9 episodes (Progs 1350 to 1358) 60 pages
(231pages)

That would make room for a second collection
STRONTIUM DOG: TRAITOR TO HIS KIND
The Headly Foot Job 4 episodes (Progs 1400 to 1403) 24 pages
Traitor to his Kind 10 episodes (Progs 1406 to 1415) 60 pages
Shaggy Dog Story 5 episodes (Progs 1469 to 1472) 36 pages
The Glum Affair 11 episodes (Progs 1567 to 1576) 66 pages
(186pages)

To complete the Durham Red books issue a book "0" as a prelude to the current books.
DURHAM RED: ZERO

Island of the Damned 12 episodes (Progs 762 to 773) 62 pages
Mirrors 3 episodes (Progs 901 to 903) 18 pages
Deals 4 episodes (Progs 960 to 963) 24 pages
Night of the Hunters 6 episodes (Progs 1000 to 1005) 38 pages
Epicedium 1 episode (Prog 1006) 6 pages
Durham Red: The Golden Mile (2000AD Yearbook 1993)
Durham Red: Diners (2000AD Sci-Fi Special 1995)
Durham Red: Ghosts (2000AD Winter Special 1994)

Finally, there's the rather large "Legacy" volume, which would collect the Tales from the Doghouse, and Stontium Dogs stories. Some people might not think much of the stories here, but a few things should be noted.
1) It's a large, and complete, collection.
2) A number of the stories, including Monsters, and Hogan's run read much better in one sitting.
3) The Ennis stories might pull in a few more American readers.

STRONTIUM DOGS: LEGACY
Monsters 12 episodes (Progs 750 to 761) 60 pages
Return of the Gronk 8 episodes (Progs 817 to 824) 48 pages
How The Gronk Got His Heartses 2 episodes (Progs 850 to 851) 12 pages
The Darkest Star 12 episodes (Progs 855 to 866) 61 pages
Crossroads 3 episodes (Progs 897 to 899) 18 pages
Alphabet Man 3 episodes (Progs 937 to 939) 18 pages
High Moon 8 episodes (Progs 940 to 947) 48 pages
The Mutant Sleeps Tonight 1 episode (Prog 957) 6 pages
Hate & War 7 episodes (Progs 993 to 999) 43 pages
Back-to-Front Jones 1 episode (Prog 578)
The Birdman of Alton Towers 1 episode (Prog 579)
Chameleon 1 episode (Prog 612) 5 pages
Spud O'Riley 1 episode (Prog 613) 5 pages
Maeve the Many-Armed 2 episodes (Progs 617 to 618)
Sting Ray 2 episodes (Progs 623 to 624) 10 pages
Froggy Natterjack 1 episode (Prog 625) 5 pages
Ratty 1 episode (Prog 626) 5 pages
Niall of the Nine Sausages 3 episodes (Progs 636 to 638) 15 pages
Moosey 1 episode (Prog 649) 5 pages
Dead Man's Hand (2000AD Yearbook 1993)
Angel Blood (2000AD Sci-Fi Special 1993)
The Cage (Poster Prog Strontium Dogs 1) 6 pages

Anyway, all a bit of fun.
Cheers

I've said it before and I'll say it again - I would pay good money for a Strontium Dogs collection as I have such happy childhood memories of it. I'd love the chance to reread and see if it is really that bad.

I'd definitely buy the early Durham Red stuff too.

"Kreeler Conspiracy Part 1 8 episodes (Progs 1174 to 1180) 84 pages
Kreeler Conspiracy Part 2 5 episodes (Progs 1195 to 1199) 30 pages
Roadhouse 8 episodes (Progs 1300 to 1307) 54 pages"

The Sad Case (Prog 2001, 10 pages) will probably appear between these two in the book.  That'll be 178 pages of strip...

That would push The Tax Job into the 2nd book, which would probably be too large for one volume, although I'd would be good to get the Glum Affair in there, as it sort of feels like a closing chapter to the Traitor storyline.

Be nice to have a 144 page long Stronty story soon in the Prog.

According to Cyber Matt at Bristol, the next Stront story is a long one, though whether thats 10 or 15 or 20 parts I  dont know! And its not due til Christmas.... sob!

ukdane

Watcher: I don't mind it not starting to Christmas, if it's a quality strip, which I'm sure it will be, and it lasts ½ (or more) of next year! A realy "boys adventure" would be great.

In the spirit of collection-guessing, I've just put this together:

Judge Dredd: Necropolis Book 1
(195 pages)
Bloodline 2 episodes (Progs 583 to 584) 18 pages
The Shooting Match 1 episode (Prog 650) 6 pages
Young Giant 5 episodes (Progs 651 to 655) 30 pages
The Dead Man 13 episodes (Progs 650 to 662) 81 pages
A Letter To Judge Dredd 1 episode (Prog 661) 6 pages
Tale of the Dead Man 7 episodes (Progs 662 to 668) 54 pages

Judge Dredd: Necropolis Book 2
(195 pages)
By Lethal Injection 2 episodes (Progs 669 to 670) 13 pages
Rights of Succession 1 episode (Prog 671) 7 pages
Dear Annie 2 episodes (Progs 672 to 673) 13 pages
Necropolis 26 episodes (Progs 674 to 699) 162 pages

Judge Dredd: Necropolis Book 3
(126 pages)
Theatre of Death 2 episodes (Progs 700 to 701) 12 pages
Nightmares 5 episodes (Progs 702 to 706) 30 pages
Bill Bailey Won't You Please Come Home 4 episodes (Progs 723 to 726) 24 pages
Return of the King 3 episodes (Progs 733 to 735) 18 pages
Plagues of Necropolis 6 episodes (Megs 2.78 to 2.83) 42 pages

are there any other stories that would fit into the epilogue that is book 3?
Cheers

I would axe 'Plagues of Necropolis' and have instead: 'The Devil You Know' and 'Twilight's Last Gleaming'.
