General / Comic Fight Club
13 September, 2002, 07:17:50 AM
Ok heres the deal. Two or more comic antagonists a location and perhaps a reason. Someone suggests a match up and we all throw in our two pence worth for why a particular character may win under the circumstances.

Fight 1:   Ol' Stoney Face   Vs   The Dark Night
          (AKA Joseph Dredd       (AKA Batman
Megacity Law Man)      Hero of Gotham)

LOCATION: Mega City Block top Dredd catches Batman off guard through wally squad intelligence. Unbeknownst to Dredd who takes Batman for another Gliding freak, The Dark Knight is perched to pounch on an infamous criminal ?????)

1: JUDGE DREDD: (drawing his Mk 2 Lawgiver) "Halt Creep"............................

General / Dredd RPG
02 September, 2002, 06:55:11 AM
I bought the Judge Dredd RPG book and i have to say its pretty darn good. This book is a good buy for people wanting to find out about the judge Dredd setting and characters whether thet play the game or not.It is well written and presented and comes across much better than games of the same ilk. Anyway just wanted to say im pleased with it. Oh yeah i joined one of those fantasy book clubs a while ago and got loads of graphic novels for 50p-?1 and then quit my membership at the earliest opportunity- its a great way to build up a bit of a library of 2000ad related material-- i just wish the Halo Jones story would come to a more satisfying end. So your living in Mega-city one do you want to be a Judge or a Perp??

Prog / Spiderman
18 May, 2002, 06:58:01 AM
Oh yeah i watched spiderman on pirate copy earlier and its pretty cool if you want a simple- theres a good guy theres a bad guy lets watch them punch each other kinda thing. Its directed by the same dude who did evil dead and its even got Bruce Campbell in it. Spiderman is geeky enough, the female role is treated as a complete object though which sucks. Spidey get the one up as expected. I could just imagine him walking away at the end and saying "yes kids and in Spiderman two ill be defeating Doctor Octopus" but it ends with a nice American Flag for us all to hold our hand on our hearts to anyway go see it its good entertainment with some lines straight out the comic books!

General / Saturn 3 takes hold
18 May, 2002, 06:46:21 AM
I watched Saturn 3 the other night. I was interested cos i like a band called Fu Manchu and they have a song of the same name. It was cheese! but on the same night i had a really messed up dream where i started to remove the organs of my best friend in front of his father (who directed and approved!) i gotta stop smoking man!

General / Return to the scene of the crime
16 May, 2002, 06:34:39 AM
I havnt checked back here for about six months and my how the tables have turned with all this controversy. I remember that Scojo (how ever old he is) seemed to have time to be permenantly surveying this guestbook and he was the lord of the threads. Well thats not quite so true now, ever since the backlash of criticism which Scojo took so childishly. Critisism is a really good thing. Without the views and comments of others on our work we are left with the product of our egos and its very easy to be self indulgent. Scojo may love reading his screenplay and he may be very attached to it. The questions he must ask himself are why am i writing this? and who will be reading this? If the answer is "its for myself for my own enjoyment" then i wouldnt worry too much about what anyone else thinks. However if the answer is "Im writing this with the goal of it being produced and enjoyed by others" then ideas, opinions and criticisms of others are highly valuable. You can learn so much from others comments if you care to listen. Its kind of like the teachers red pen, and if you cant remember that, then maybe its time to get away from the screen and go back to English classes!

Help! / Book club
04 January, 2002, 06:24:32 AM
I looked over the choices in the bookclub leaflet you get in prog 2002 and it seemed like a great deal to get all those Dredd, Death and Halo Jones books for so cheap so i wrote off. I was just wondering if anybody is a member or has been a member of these bookclubs? do they treat you nicely or is there a hidden catch waiting for me? proceeding with caution--nemesis

I just learned that the gamesworkshop people are making models for the lord of the rings film. Does anyone else think it would be cool to have models of dredd and the abc warriors etc- i think id prefer that to action figures anyway...
