Where was that Ezquerra published?

Produced in 1995 for Judge Dredd: The EPICS trading cards.

Yes, i think this is more possible than this tv show which has seemingly ground to a halt now.
I thought I remembered reading that the Rogue movie was in limbo too, but I'm not sure about that.

As I mentioned earlier in this thread Duncan Jones is currently working on an indie film with Zack Stentz as Rogue has seemingly stalled.

Duncan Jones is developing an indie film at the moment with Zack Stentz.

'Secret mission', 'military' ... sounds more like Sniper Elite.

Nice to see a classic character return this week.

* I am of course referring to Joe Soap. I wouldn't subscribe to Disney+ for all the Green Milk in Ahch-To.

You can wait it out in the hills all you want, but we'll find you, eventually.

Well, it's not like Ewan McGregor is a) cheap, or b) short of job offers. I get the impression he'll do a series if he likes the idea of it (Fargo) but I can't imagine he'd want to tie himself down to however-many-weeks of shooting every year for a multi-year commitment.

(Still, Disney seems to have got Hiddlestone signed up for at least two series of Loki, so, who knows?)

Loki has a prebuilt elasticity that ties directly into the always forward pushing, next phase MCU films, but unlike Loki there's a certain amount of foreknowledge that Kenobi was supposed to be 'hiding out' on Tatooine for years - which does at least put some limitation on it, although it wouldn't stop him popping up for a cameo in Andor or flying off for brief adventures but it does dilute it. It's wheels within wheels in how they can use the characters. Aside from the expense and availability, Kenobi will make bank, and it feels like Andor has been in-production for years but is the last to come out.

After the Sequels I think they're being relatively careful with their 'classic' Star Wars characters and there's a concentration on the side characters and newbies in the ongoing series. The Luke thing is an ongoing experiment in how far they can push it, but is more likely than not the direction in which the franchise intends to go (they've done something similar in the next Indy film so Young Solo is all ready a shoe-in if it hasn't happened all ready).

Obi-Wan Kenobi is a limited series of 6 episodes. It's not so far intended to be more than one season and unlike the other series it has one Director and one Writer.

Pity Luke had to be such a cock about Mando's present to Grogu.

New Jedi hubris.

Quote from: milstar on 02 July, 2021, 09:41:36 PM...some people tried to justify the casting in remake of The Magnificent Seven, saying that Wild West was much diverse than we know, when arguably it wasn't.

The Magnificent Seven is a piece of genre fantasy – a western remake of The Seven Samurai. It doesn't matter what tone of skin the cast are.

Donnie Darko DC is an exercise in overindulgence and convolution – a runaway trait that quickly ground the creator's career to a halt. The least interesting thing about the film is the logicality of the plot. Adding more of, or trying to explain it via clunky exposition and incongruous FX scenes, takes away from what is a fairly simple, atmospheric story. The film-maker misjudged that appeal.

As opposed to other non-US comic characters, maybe a little more, but not Hellboy level.

Of the few times I met him in person he was the most affable and friendliest of people – simply a good decent soul.

A huge loss for 2000AD and fandom, a tragic loss for his family.

Thanks Dave, for everything you did to make 2000AD, in all its influence, a richer experience.

I don't entirely blame some fans for having the expectation it would be 'made by now'. Not everyone pays attention to the details, or lack of, in announcements; or are aware of the very, very small percentage of projects that ever crawl out of the dark days of Development and into the green-light of Production.

Apart from the public announcement in May 2017 – which many fans would simply take to mean 'it's happening'– some of the language used in subesequent press statements implied things were in place and it was going into Pre-production – when as far as I can tell it has never left Development:

"It's been really exciting to be working with Rob on the pilot," Jenkins said in a statement. "We have a really talented team here at Rebellion Productions and I'm really proud of them. Jason and I have been busy looking at locations and laying out season one as we gear up, to move forward into pre-production."

After that there was the collapse of their Mega-City One Production partner, IMGlobal, and Rebellion's own focus and mission has altered/broadened since then as they became facilitators of a large studio space and bought a distribution servicing company.

With an ambitious creation like Judge Dredd it was always, and still is, a matter of 'who pays for it?'

You could cut an hour and a half out of Justice League and it would still make as much plot and character sense as it does now.

10% of the film is in slow-motion.
