Games / Re: Nintendo 3DS - anyone got one?
11 July, 2012, 08:02:40 PM
I got one since the release. Great console, and I like the fact it's just getting better and better.

Especially as some of you pointed out, the internet functionality is slowly but steady getting really good. Colors 3D and pullblox especially. Love those.

The retail ones I got are RE REV, Mario Land 3D, Mario Kart 7, Zelda OOT 3D and Kid Icarus. Lovely games, especially Kid Icarus. The way to control the game is a bit exotic (it can play it with "regular" controls if needed) but when I got a hang of it I can't stop using it.

I'd really wish they'd release a port of Killer7 and Zelda Majoras Mask. If they'd announce those it'd be sleepless nights for me till they where released, wouldn't be able to sleep with happy salty tears in my eyes :)

Will probably upgrade to a XL in the end of the month. I just need to get around the colors, I'd really love a white o black one :)

Did I post something ten times? I thought I just modified my post a bit, I asked about "when can I post everywhere?" and saw in another thread that the moderators make a check so that I'm not a porn bot or try to offer people russian women :-[

Judge Dredd: America: Wonderfully crafted and terrible sad. Especially Ben's relationship with Ami, I know exactly how such a "relationship" with a rebel girl you always wanted but couldn't get feels like...

100Bullets: It's almost like many of it's characters doesn't want revenge, but to make you, the reader, cry. Wylie runs the Voodoo down especially.

Watchmen: The thing Manhattan understands on Mars really does it for me. I don't cry, but when I read it, I strongly wish I could: I figure it'd feel nice.

So far so, so good I think. I really liked Minutemen and Comedian(felt very retro) and Silk spectre was quite good fun.

Nightowl, Ozymandias doesn't cut it for me. They both feel like they rely to much on the watchmen book, the other three feel like they could have worked even if I hadn't read the book.

I'm really looking forward to Rorsarch, if it's only half as good as Luthor or Joker then it's one of this years finest books for me :) !

I feel even if none of these books turn out to be good, or -who knows?- the best I'v read, I don't think it'll change what I feel about the Watchmen book.
It's like how I like Batman, I only like a couple of the books (very very much), which means there's alot Batman books I don't like. But that doesn't change a bit what I think/feel about those I love.

A big reason to migrate to this place was promises that a certain mad-man isn't welcome here ;) By the way, I'v heard he's been mentioned in a prog in some way, know which one?

Blimey, i didnt realise Pete Wells was Scojo, so thats why your all mean to him  ;)

Now then, and welcome Borntohula!

You know which prog :D ? It's almost surreal, both his madness and that it'd actually got him mentioned in the comic.
The movie having a writing on a wall "Judge Minty Rules" is a bit better me thinks ;)

Welcome aboard Borntohula,

I'm sure many people will point you towards some classic tales from the Prog over the next few posts. If you look at the trade collections that 2000 AD produce then you will find a wealth of stunning stories and obviously the new style 'Case Files' are amazing value for money and an excellent way of reading large swathes of stories in one handy edition.

I hope you have fun on the site and join in on many of the threads.

By the way, how did you get into Dredd?

I'v actually read some of the epics (Cursed earth, Day the law died, The whole Judge Child saga, Apocalypse war, Necropolis, Origins) and some others. I'm a bit cliché and love America the most :) !

I got into Dredd early on through a monthly comic book in Sweden who ran alot Dredd. I think The day the law died was the first I read. And a couple of years later I decided to support a comic book store in my hometown by buying alot of those case files-books.

The biggest hook was that it felt a bit illegal to read such grim comics together with the fact that the satire was felt.

This place is certainly less mental than IMDB. Welcome, Carl.

Hi.

Started hanging out on the IMDB-forum for DREDD, but I figured this is a bit more well adjusted place to  discuss stuff.

Dredd is my fav. 2000AD, but I'm looking forward to discover more from 2000ad. I also love DC Vertigo, especially 100Bullets.

Otherwise I'm really looking forward to the upcomming movie.
