Yep - I would have been very happy to see Mycroft just say "Ah, smashing", nod and then some thug in boots (possibly a Colonel Moran, eh?) blows CAM away.

I would love to be able to sit through a TV show without having to mansplain, particular when it's such straightforward things as what just happened on TV that she missed because she can't keep off bloody facebook.
Shooting someone in the head
was a very elementary solution. Good job they had a genius along to do that, eh? Perhaps it would have been better to just leave that to the
assassin who wanted to do it in the first place.
But it wasn't til that point that they knew it was
all stored in his head
as earlier there was the danger that
after his death all the damaging information would be released
If you've read the original story, your solution is
exactly what happens!
Book Holmes is smarter than TV Holmes it seems.  "It was no affair of ours; that justice had overtaken a villain..."

Film Discussion / Re: Dredd (2012)

I have watched the trailer for Alien: Isolation.

It looks dead good though I am not of the widely held opinion that guns ruin the horror of Alien. I remember AvP.... However this is a much more creative interpretation anyway.

Chuck.

I decided to give this a try on Netflix and I'm hooked. There's some serious geek charm to this show. I can't believe I've missed this until now. Even the missus has been sucked in.

Just finish the episode where the guys dress as Shai'Hulud for Halloween. As a Dune fan this show will always be tops with me now.

Got through the first two episodes on Friday - think I'll be loading it up next time I work from home too. Not least for Sarah.

"We will find the person who did this to you. I'm sorry." *Cit boom*

I do wish they would try using guns a bit more. Its a bit ridiculous watching two of them jumping into a room full of people to beat them all unconscious, particularly when need the geek team to pull little tricks to slow down the one bad guy who remembered to bring a gun to the party.

And does no one on the show laugh when they read someone confirming that Skye will be of absolutely no use on the mission.

My usual interpretation of such things is that these relics are not proof that the God of the Ark or the Grail really exists - but that there are strange artefacts that Christians have built their religions around. The crusader at the end of Indy 3 tests this a little.

Doesn't she fry the lock on the warehouse door with telekinesis or did I imagine that?

I must have missed that! Seven times:-[ Obviously distracted by the gophers.  I had thought her powers were just a mild telepathy thing.

That's the moment that made her my favourite bit, that it was so low key.

My favourite aspect of Crystal Skull is the KGB's psychic femme fatale, whose powers are mostly understated from what I remember.

Another full Christmas dinner for NY day; Turkey, pigs in blankets, honey roast parsnips, goose fat potatoes, yorkshire pudding, chestnut stuffing and a weird but delicious (!) pureed brussel sprouts bake on the side.

Looking forwad to leftovers in about an hour...

What do snowmen eat for breakfast?

Snow flakes (I think frosted flakes is a better one)
