A lot better than it generally gets credit for, with a very ambitious three-part structure that works well.  Unfortunately there's an inconsistent tone, somewhat emphasised by the art, so that it veers from horror to arch silliness, with the wolves themselves going from terrifying juggernauts of fur and fangs to My Little Werewolf for no readily apparent reason (well, there is an in-universe reason given, but I didn't really see how it helped the story).  The mix of humour, horror and post-apocalyptic fantasy is suitably 2000AD, and clearly owes a welcome debt to the mix in American Werewolf in London, but it just doesn't quite work for me: I found it hard to know when we had switched from satirical comedy to high drama, and that did affect my overall enjoyment.

I'd be very interested to read it all in one go, since the partial re-reads I did at the time of the third book were quite satisfying.  Certainly worth your time.

It doesn't really grab me....mind you that's maybe not a bad recommend for it. Tordel gives a fairly concise critique above. Z
Ed is dead, baby Ed is...Ed is dead

Yep Tordel has captured it perfectly as always - ! Quite an inconsistent story really - shame as it did manage in its earliest parts managed to convey a really strong sense of world-endy dread that I still recall now.

Old Tankie

I really enjoyed this, although I agree it could be a bit inconsistent.  Someone in the States obviously rates JD-H's artwork, as he's been signed up by Vertigo.

One of the worst stories of the last ten years.

I was pleased that JDH got a regular US gig because all Thargs droids deserve good careers but more so because it means he's less likely to appear in the prog.

Absolute bobbins rubbish story too. Thank Tharg it's gone.. I'd rather have had a reprint of 'Angel'
If I'd known it was harmless I would have killed it myself.

Close to what line? We're not allowed polite formulations of 'I don't like their art'? And I'm not being disingenuous when I wish him a successful career, I wish everyone in UK comics a successful career and hope they all do well out of it. I buy the prog religiously and promote 2000ad relentlessly but I'm not allowed to say that when I pay my £2.45 I'd rather see other peoples art? Really?

If I'd known it was harmless I would have killed it myself.

As I said, your comment came very close to the line of criticism of a creator that went beyond your opinion on their art, which is why you have received a warning.

I thought we'd established that "I didn't like this because..." was generally acceptable as constructive criticism/feedback, while "This is utter shit..." was unhelpful and negative and "Artist X couldn't draw their way out of a paper bag..." was a personal attack, the latter two being likely to draw moderator attention.

Also:

You, like everyone else, is "allowed" to say whatever you like on your own blog/ website/ twitter account. On a site Rebellion pays to host and maintain, I'm pretty sure they're entitled to step in and moderate posts and behaviour that might be upsetting to their creators or in some way impact negatively on their products or business.

I honestly have no idea what I am meant to take from that as I've expressed no opinion on anything other than the presence of his art. 100s of times on this blog people say 'I don't like X's Dredd' or similar and nobody gets warnings. Seems completely random to jump on what I've said never mind issue 'warnings'.

Whether you realise this or not, your comment:

is highly insulting to Jon and, as mentioned, stepped too close to the line where a formal warning would be necessary. As requested, please moderate the way you talk about our creators.

Well, respectfully, I think you've totally misconstrued what I've said.

And, with respect, I only have the words contained within your post to go on so if that was not your intent then please take greater care with the wording of future postings. It's a fine line, yes, but one everyone on this board must walk.
