Cheers for the effort Worldshown,

A bit of harder thinking and I remembered the kid was the guy who played Gruey, then it just took me a breif visit to imdb to find the programme I remember listed as Monster Maker....

while I'm on a roll I'll try to find the name of the Evangelical Christian TV movie where Tom Hanks (I think) plays too much D&D and starts believing there are Giants and Dragons stalking the streets of New York...

Awreet,

I've been off the message boards for a while now, how's everyone doing?

got a nagging question that needs an answer from the great and powerful hive mind...

What was the name of the 80's (BBC?) TV special which featured a working class (Cornish?) kid with black hair, who finds what he thinks is a real dragon, but it turns out to be a model of a dragon made by a special effects wiz. The actual effects were done by the Jim Henson Creature Shop IIRC...

does anyone else remember this or is it yet another sign of my fragile sanity slipping away?

Quote from: "Mangamax"Just watched it again.
The Masters going to save the day isn't he?
Thinking that key thing that Martha's got is a way to bring him back.
And that's what Caan is going on about when whittering "he's here... the dark one is coming" etc.
And that IS the Masters ring Donnas wearing.
And that heartbeat thing she heard is the sound of drums
Could be completely wrong - but can't wait to find out.
This is almost pre-internet. Things happen and you just have to WAIT for the resolution, no leaks, no spoilers, nothing

Is she really going out with him?
Well, there she is. Let's ask her.
Donna, is that The Master's ring you're wearing?
Mm-hmm
Gee, it must be great riding with him
Is he picking you up after school today?
Uh-uh
By the way, where'd you meet him?...

Yeah, good prog all round this week, my only complaint was that bloody stupid sticker over the Bar-Code which almost had the kid in the Newsies charging me £1.95 for it...

..Seriously Krom, you must know Rolling.On.The.Floor.Laughing?

Off Topic / Re: Internet Dating

Quote from: "petemaskreplica"Well, I did it a couple of years ago and met someone whom I've ended up moving in with, so it worked for me.

Be prepared for a long hard slog though, it's great fun at first but by the time you get to your 10th or 11th first date it can get a bit dispiriting, endlessly having essentially the same conversation with many different people.

This blog provides excellent advice, and is very funny to boot.

Does that not hold true for the whole dating oevre, or am I really far too emo for my own good?

On the advice front, be honest, br genuine, be yourself (maybe that's where I'm going wrong...)

Rob,

I really can't think of any sensible questions that haven't already been asked, and to ask something silly would just be, well, silly...

But I feel an urge to participate in Wakes great new thread idea as I feel this might help the whole thing catch on, and other creators might pop in here for a chat and a cuppa more often...

Erm, any suggestions? If you were me, what would you ask you?
