Hats off to everyone putting so much effort into organising this and the fantastic donations of work and art by the creators as well.

Another 2000ad full of pride moment... only slightly diluted by my evil desire to WIN THEM ALL!

Books & Comics / Re: New Comic Book Day Megathread

Well there are few new comics coming the way of my pull list soon* as so some others need to be shed... though to be fair those that are going probably would be gone regardless. So Not much more to say about Justice League United 2 and Nightcrawler 3. Some how Batman 31 keeps that title still in the game. For the life of me I'm not sure why?

Elsewhere things are on better form. We have a starter in Infinity man and the Forever People 1, what can I say I enjoyed OMAC by the same team and I'm a sulker for the old Kirby stuff (of course) so always intrigued to see what the relaunches do. Slow to get going but by the end I reckon this one might be okay. C.O.W.L. 1 likewise gave me hope. Its not perfect but interesting enough and the concept is great. The art is fun but Rod Reis probably needs to develop past the Sienkwicz tribute act he currently seems to be... mind you could pick a lot worse influences to wear so clearly on your sleeve! Cyclops 2, now this is what I was expecting this series to be about. Blindin'.

My regulars are all on good form, Sex 13, Hinterkind 8, FBP 11, Jonah Hex 31, The Victories 12, all great if none of them is outstanding in relation to what their respective series can be. The Maxx  8 continues to baffle in the most delightful way. I think I might be making headway with whats going on after this issue... I await getting that flipped on its head next issue then! Douglas Wolk and Ulises Farinas overly long title Dredd Mini 5 ends quite wonderfully, looking forward to re-reading this one. The Massive 23 both worries and delights me. Probably issue of the haul but what is that Something About Mary? Well we'll be finding out soon as this great series enters its end phase.

*So that's whats in the haul. On the way we have:

Winterworld - Chuck Dixon's right wing politics do worry me a little, but he does write a certain type of comic very well. I think this will be that sort of comic.

Ragnarok- Walt Simonson - nuff said

Doctor Who - Eleven Doctor - completing a triple for IDW holding off on the tenth but with with this creative line-up now way I could wait on this one

Dark Horse Comics  - The lower priced relaunch is the perfect time for me to get on board with a series I really should have been getting for a while now!

Fade Out - Well as Fatale bows out another rises to take its place

Copperhead - A very 2000ad premise and a really nice preview has me giving this a go.

So while I'm not over worried about overload, so many of my favourite titles being only semi regular and a few more selling quite low and for which I fear the chop, with this many new editions on the way over the next few months a few titles need to buck up soon!

Uhhh you almost had me with Godland but not sure I want to get half the series. That will only led to me spending an age to track down the second half and second halves are always so much harder to get ya mitts on.

So really good deals there though.

You know when you're out dancing and you kinda worry that whatever the tune ya dancin' is kinda the same well welcome to the 2000ad review boogie. I've got nowt new to say, nor any new moves, but hell when the tune is this good you just gotta get up there and do somethings.

As I swing my hips to the beat of a fine Dredd, developing its charge towards conclusion and beginning to give us more and more. You shuffle your feet to the solid and even if simple groove of a Terror Tale, crafted fantastically*. You pogo wildly to the grinding glory that is Slaine, that leaves you all a tinge for more as it concludes on a sword egde. You thrust your fist in the air as you delight in the pure glorious power of Grey Area belting out one of its finest tunes. That Abnett doesn't waste a moment, he just rattles out great story after great story not wastin' a beat.

Finally though tired and sweaty you find the strength to pump and grind with whomever is willing to thrust with you to the glory that is Indigo Prime a tale of such wonderousness that you find before unknown reserves of sticky, dripping energy to go just one more time.

Then completely satisfied you drift into the cool night air, damp and sweaty completely spent.

Tharg you are one fine DJ.

PLEASE BE MY DAD!

Who, me or TordelBack?  Maybe we could arrange shared custody?

Well much as I love Tordelback he's never brought me the unqualified genius that is lego Iok Sotot. To be followed by a pun, a visual pun so puntatsic as to be fitting for... well Sinister Dexter. This therefore works on SOOOOO many levels. My love and respect for you now is without measure and I realise I'm not worthy of the honour of your fatherhood and must worship from a distance until I am.

"Alan Moore rip-off (well he thinks so anyway!) 'Zenith' reprints as World Cup start means hardcover looses its Appeal"

Close as I could get it!

It does look very pretty and if you have the money to splash I'm sure its a great addition to a collection BUT don't those headlights look like the eyes of a slightly sad fly.

Yeah wasn't going to bother posting it as it was such a poor article but thought it worthwhile just to illustrate the type on nonsense that people will spout about stuff (oh the irony, I know, I know) just to keep this one bubbling away.

Aside from all the factual errors the biggest problem with it is it serves no purpose at all. Has no relevant news, is a vague review of something that came out an age ago (as people have said) and couldn't buy if they wanted to... well not at a realistic price anyway. So what were they trying to do and my only guess is get some clicks off Zenith again.

Does test the cliche - there's no such thing as bad publicity!

Apparently this is still news... though there is little news in this fairly poorly researched article. I post it here... well cos I had to read it so you might as well!

Oh and as far as I can see the headline doesn't actually bear any relevance!

And if course I ran straight over to the shop without a through to the fact that its neither Wednesday, nor the 18th and hence find myself creeping back here, tail between legs...

...but...

It's all Molch-R's fault just imagine the cheek of giving us a weeks notice and getting my hopes up and all that. Christ alive has he no respect for us die hard fans. Next thing you know next Wednesday I'll have to type a few letters and click a few clicks AGAIN rather than having the information I want beamed directly into my eye ball.
