Eh...it's a site advertising camera rigs for-hire not a website for marketing Dredd. They wouldn't be allowed show much anyway but that isn't the point.

COMMANDO FORCES

If that is the block in question then it's very interesting, as I was expecting internal corridors!

Lots of greenscreen too. Nice! Guess we'll be seeing some good exterior shots of Mega City 1 then...

It's likely that it is part of the exterior rather than an interior and the set build-placement of opposite sides of the set don't correspond to the actual screen geography -the wall edges don't join in the video and only one side is seen by the back-tracking camera- plus there seems to be a lot of weathering too.

Also contains the first piece of actual Judge-in-motion footage we've seen in some Lawgiver-firing-defenestration-action:

Nice find Joe!  Great to see some judgin' at last, and that's some complex rigging...

The stage sets look really good, but I confess a dislike of contemporary building locations in SF films.  I'm constantly reminded of the LA business/technology campuses that the Star Trek and Stargate crews rambled unconvincingly around for years.  Or in our own neck of the woods the front of the Woodquay offices that appeared unadorned in Space Truckers.  Warehouses, cabling tunnels and grungey alleys are one thing, full-on public architecture is another.  Fingers crossed for some digital trickery.

Cheers Joe Soap for the link and images, that looks good!

Ah, memories.. I was on or visited two of those sets.

Interesting note.. Usually this sort of stuff doesn't get released prior to the movie's release, as you know.. Thing is, here in SA people are sort of 'meh, whatever..' when it comes to the secrecy stuff. Which is probably why I got the chop. We're not used to huge-ish productions. Normally whatever we do is service industry for straight to-dvd or tv stuff that nobody really cares about, and pics are plastered on resumes as before the last foreign producer can even buckle his airplane seatbelt.
You have never felt pain until you've trodden barefoot on an upturned lego brick..

Very interesting!

That block set looks most impressive. Cheers for the post!
