Thought I'd share a shameless plug and a peek at a page from Salvage by Abandoned Comics due out later in the year.

Creative Common / Graphics tablet
11 May, 2011, 01:08:23 PM
Hi all

I'm looking for some solid recommendations for a graphics tablet. I willing to entertain any suggestions especially any mid range cost models.

Also hoping someone can provide pros/cons with regards to sizes.

Thanks in advance.

Hello all.

I've already posted a couple of pics in the creative common by would like to post an intro all the same.

I used to read 2000ad when I was a lot younger and was always a fan of Judge Dredd, Strontium Dog, Rogue Trooper and Nemesis. I'd spend endless hours copying the old 2000ad legends back then and always thought it was the career for me. Well surprise surprise it never happened but not through any lack of trying but because priority's changed and some dreams have to get put to one side. I plugged away artistically for a few years while working full time. I enjoyed doing a lot of art work for private low paid commissions and a lot of charity's trying to get my work about. Unfortunately I wasn't a charity and as soon as I started charging charity worked disappeared and I was back to square one. With no contacts and no helping advice I gave it up around 1990 which was around the same time I moved away from 2000ad and art in general. My experience of illustration was a good one overall and oddly I've no regrets. Full time work took off and I'm now a skilled bespoke carpenter/cabinet maker and run a successful shop fitting business. Married to fantastic lady. We have one beautiful little girl and two cats.

I'd heard about the new Dredd film and new this forum would be the easiest way to find out a bit more. The more of the site I looked through I realised actually how much I'd missed and after one slow day at work  I swung by a W H Smiths prior to going and doing some work at a neighbouring shop that evening.  I picked up Judge Dredd Brother of the Blood.

Hooked!

I now have 10 other books to go along with it.

These are the last pieces of art I still have from my time back in late eighties. One's a cassette cover (not a record cover!)for some awful local metal band from the late eighties. I can't remember them and they went nowhere and the other is just a self portrait from around 1987. These are all I have left.
