Here's what I'd do (in order):
a) get caught up on Dredd (as it appears that the long-heralded important death is now very immanent) so that you can participate in relevant threads on the forum...

Sorry to threadjack but where would be the best/easiest place to start regarding the above story arc?

Yeah, the SD stories were my favourite.  The second one in particular is great fun.

Rogue Trooper would make for an excellent audio series.

It's a pity that the 2000 AD audios didn't catch on in the same way that the DW's did.

Is it something you think Rebellion would be into or are they just wrapped up in the comic itself?

Could you no get the best of both worlds. Use Prog 2000 to resume your regular reading pattern as if you were a newbie. That would then take the pressure off the catching up...

As an Earthlet who's recently returned to the fold this is what I intend to do.  Since getting the bug again, I've only read (and bought) collected works just to get back into things and to tickle my nostalgia buds.

I started a sub last week (and still waiting for my first new issue in years) but I don't really intend to read them with too much verve.  I can hold off until Prog 2000 - I'm sure it'll be worth the wait!

TL;DR - Don't read any more than you want to.  What's the point of turning a fun past-time into a chore.  Grud knows, life has enough chores already!

General / Any Chance of More Big Finish Audios?

I know the previous 2000 AD audio dramas by Big Finish weren't the greatest but I really enjoyed them.  At the very least they certainly captured more thrill-power flavour than the that bloody film from 1995!

I wonder if there's any chance of the good folks at Rebellion commissioning a new series for the Progs big anniversary next year.

The Doctor Who dramas have come a long way over the years as the company have honed their skills and attracted some really talented people.  I'd love to see what they could do with 2000 AD these days... Perhaps even taking over the canon set by the 2012 Dredd film...

Well, I finally got to spend some time with the collection.  It is really lovely.  I was amazed how many of the early strips were still in my old memory banks - they just took a little jogging...

I'm pretty glad I bought this rather than going for the old Mega Collections.  It was tickled pink discovering previously un(re)printed strips.

I hope the 2nd volume holds up to this though I'm not so sure the quality of story telling can hold up to the early stuff.  Either way, I can't wait to find out. :)

Thanks very much for the link.  I haven't had time to read through the 6 pages but I've bookmarked it for a proper read later. :)

Drokk, Stomm, Jovus, Grud... All classic but is there a full list of 2000AD expletives.  I'm curious about the more obscure words or even peoples favourites.

I work with kids and they find it infinitely amusing when I use these 'cheeky' words and I'm always up for expanding my vocabulary. :)

Good news indeed!

To be honest, I haven't felt that it was as funny in the last few series but it always tickles me right in the nostalgia.  It's also nice to have something to look forward to in September. :)

Always happy to see a new episode in my phone feed.  I haven't listened to this one yet but as soon as I've read the book I'll be sticking the old ear buds in. :)

Been listening to a mix of Faith No More and Nine Inch Nails this morning.  I feel like I'm 20 again!

That's super cool.  It would make a great poster or even a prog cover.  Good stuff.

That's good to know.  I've just bought a copy from Ebay for £20.

Heh, that is a nice line and very JD. :)

Could you possibly allow me greater privileges too, please?  I've got a lovely avatar sitting on my desktop waiting to be added to my account but I can't see a 'Profile' button. :)

Well, I think I'm convinced.

I remember the older releases called The Judge Dredd Collection.  There were 5 volumes, the 5th containing one long arc.  Is that arc covered in the Daily Dredds Volume 1 or is that saved for the next release?  I only have the vaguest memory of an ongoing story in the paper...
