Title: The Incredibles: dialogue source?
Post by: ming on 15 February, 2017, 12:54:39 PM
Help me, Hive-Mind, you're my only hope, etc.

Not that long ago the missus and I watched a film and were amazed that the a sizeable chunk of dialogue from one scene was transplanted (obviously as an intentional homage) into the Pixar classic, The Incredibles.  You know that scene where Bob Parr is called into Mr. Huph's office: "You Know, Bob, a Company Is like an enormous clock..." and all that?  That one.

Anyway, despite there having been two of us watching, neither of us can now remember what the original bloody film was.  I thought it might have been the Princess Bride but I'm not sure and now we're starting to think we imagined the whole thing...

Any ideas?

It's a long time since I've seen it, but is it The Hudsucker Proxy? It does feature both a company and a clock!

Nope, not that (unless the dialogue is actually featured in more than two films, in which case I'll go bananas).

In these matters it's always wise to guess Network first.
