Bit late this, as I think Episode One started last night on the FX Channel on Sky, but it's bound to be repeated this week sometime.

Anyway, just a heads up that the third season of the best written/acted TV show possibly in the history of telly - THE WIRE - is now on UK TV. And the good news is it's every bit as wonderful as seasons 1 & 2. In fact, the penultimate episode of Season 3 is just about as good as TV gets.

I've just started on Season 2 via rental but I'm seriously thinking of biting the bullet and buying the whole lot on dvd. It really is the best television series ever made. Seriously.

I thoroughly agree. Far better than the endless CSI: Somewhere clones.

It's been FX for ages now though, but as you say, Season 3 has just started.

Season 4 starts this autumn (sorry, fall) I think. On HBO that is.
NEGOTIATION'S OVER!

I've watched the first 3 seasons over the last 2 months. Its really, really great but...Better than Deadwood???
Hmm, just pretend I wrote something witty eh?

Isn't series 4 on FX at the minute?

Why a 'main-stream' channel hasn't picked this up is beyond me...

It's a police/crime thing right?

Would I still like it if I wasn't normally into police/crime things?

The Amstor Computer

Yep, I think so. It's far, far more than just another "police/crime thing", and it thoroughly deserves every single word of praise it gets.
