Prog / Prog 2167 - PANTEMONIUM!
01 February, 2020, 12:26:42 PM

A fab Purple-pant time cover by the wonderful Brendan McCarthy.

Droid Life By Cat where we meet Windy Wally... we all know one

Dredd - Future Crimes Unit , Part 1.  -  First part of this story and its good to have Rory McConville back on Dredd. I like Lynchs artwork but not really his Dredd sadly, he draws Dreddy's head a bit too elongated for me, like Beaker off the Muppets. Sets up the SJS Judge Maxwell & Dredd relationship on a good foot...

Brink - Hate Box, Part 118. A bit more blam blam along with the blah blah. Could have done with this a few months ago mind. Elvis wasnt wrong when he asked for a little less conversation and a lil mo' action...

The Zaucer of Zilk - A Zaucerful of Zecrets, Part 6. Tea pot travel with some stunning artwork & jazy colours. The tooth, the whole tooth and nothing but the tooth...

Feral & Foe - Part 6. I like this new series and its so dark in tone and art I had to take my shades off & turn the lights on to read it. I wonder what shampoo chain-hair lady uses?

Proteus Vex - Another Dawn, Part 6.  More bonkers art from Flint & lots of red teeth type stuff. Vex's expression slightly changes this week, as he tends to look like he's always got knark-on & needs a good cheering up. Maybe him and Shakira could go for a pint & some Yorkshire tapas.

This is my first ever prog thread starter type thing and seeing as its my 500th posting, I thought Id give it a go like.

Cheers

Books & Comics / ...and then Emily was gone
22 September, 2016, 12:41:59 AM
I got this great story in the free comic book day pile and was very impressed - not to mention pretty disturbed reading before bedtime - it had the desired effect!

Just wondered if anyone else had read it and the continuing stories?

Cheers

Suggestions / New Logo for prog 2000?
02 September, 2016, 01:59:41 AM
Hey Thargs Droids, hows about a new logo for the big one in a few weeks time?

The old one (acrosss the top of the prog) looks like it's had it's day and never really looked like 2000AD (Zeros) more 2oooAD (letter 'Os' ) - which is all sorts of wrong really apart from in a 70's comedy sketch.

I like the fan logo though & you should very much bring this back to the fore & keep it going.

Ta muchly

01 March, 2015, 03:34:26 AM
He's supposed to be in his 70's now isn't he?

I'm waiting for the day that he is is cryro frozen as Weapon X as per Red Razors - to be be defrosted for the big crises...

Failing that, what / when / are they going to do with Joe in his advancing years???

What it says on the tin. I love his work and Dredd was always a great read with Q.Twerk on duties...

General / Which On The Bog Back Prog?
19 November, 2014, 11:30:58 PM
When I started reading 2000AD at prog 589, I remember that the next 50 or so well worn progs became the staple reads for a trip to the lavatory for a while until my collection grew upwards, backwards & outwards.

These days on a 'prog a day' regime and after liberating 4 boxes worth of back progs from me Mum's attic, it's amazing to recall some of the crap that the house of Tharg put out as well, of course, recollect some of the wonder stuff that we have been blessed with.

So for me at the moment, I'm on Prog 1200, which some of you may recall was the new look - jumping on prog -in July 2000, with the NEW errr...  forgettable logo that was frankly rubbish.

Inside we have:

Dredd: SABS by Wagner & Kennedy - great stuff - maybe the latter's last Dredd?

Sinister Dexter: Feeding Frenzy by Abnett & Davis - Billi thinks there is a monster at her new docklands apt. Yawn.

Red Fang: by Steve's Moore & Yeowell... try and remember what this one was all about!?

Dante: Morrison & Burns - Tsar Wars Pt II - forgotten just how epic this was. A masterpiece really.

All that and the prog shrunk then in size (width) as well as a price rise!

Anyway, be good to know where you guys are in the realms of back prog-dem and what's filling tha boots & what's bobbins?!

Cheers

Welcome to the board / How doo?
15 October, 2014, 10:25:32 PM
Hello chaps & chapesses, newbie on here but long time devotee of the prog since 589. I do the odd review for the other channel and often feel as I'm missing something when folks refer to the crack on here like.

Most weeks I'm just happy that the prog is still going & that we are a very lucky bunch of squack decka fargo for some of the bestest strip around. How could anyone ever want to jump ship while Wagner & Ezquerra are still on Dredd is beyond me. Oh & Chris Weston & Disraeli make me wee my pants.

2000AD has always divided opinion & so much the better for it and for every Indigo Prime we get a Junker or every Develin Waugh we get Sinister Dexter... someone must still like the latter don't they?

Anyway nice to be here  ;)
