Quick query - I want to copy a couple of DVDs for my old man - Partridge, Curb Your Enthusiasm etc, but I've just thought - is it actually possible to copy DVDs on a pc? Are they (esp recent ones) copy protected in any way? Also, do you get all the menus/extras etc?

Like he said, DVD shrink...nit QUITE all you need, as to you will need burning software after you crack it.  Nero is great and REALLY cheap on Ebay ( a fiver or so)

Marbles

Yep DVDshrink is painfully easy to use.

There are lots on quick 'n easy online tutorials as well, takes about 3 mins to learn how to use, a real bonus.

Nero is great

Although there are compatability issues when installed on Windows Xp Service Pack 2.

Thanks to Malchi's research, we're now using Roxio for burning and we've had no problems at all (and it's roughly the same sort of price as Nero).

You guys know that, whether you agree with it or not, this is as illegal as scanning copies of 2000AD and giving them away?

Nonsense PJ - we are all making back up copies, to pirate is to steal, and to steal is wrong.

Anyone got any bootleg hardcore porno that they can copy for me?

thrillpowerseeker

At my local Car boot/Market theres this guy who is selling plastic carrier bags ?10 each with 5 free dvds of your choice..so far trading standards have ignored him while busting all around him..

this is what makes Britain Great.

I do a copy of the DVD's I get for my son before I give them to him, they can get scratched/covered in weetabix and it's no big deal, just run off another copy.

It also means I edit the "Piracy is theft and it supports terrorists" crap that you are otherwise forced to sit through everytime you play them these days. Is it just my player or can no one skip through these? What is the point of these bloody ads anyway? Here I am, with my straight from legit retailer with my hologrammed DVD, now before you can watch it see our don't pirate our DVDs ad. Targeting the wrong people I think.

Artificial Idiot

I can usually skip through them on mine, but frankly there's so many of them, in so many different countries (I mean, why do we need one for Australia on a European disc?!) it still takes forever...
