And, inspired by elsewhere on this thread, a steam-powered toaster :)

'Cos Skitter went down well I thought I'd post these too (hijacking a thread for the purposes of self-pimping?! ME?) ;)

One's just another page of him with some more rat designs, the other is a comic page-type thing I tried because I really grew to like the character (his pose is knicked from my entry, yes)

Thanks all for the comments, good to see Stompy (It's called The Rocket by the way, forgot to add that) and Skitter were well recieved, they were my best ones. :)

gmslegion - Laughed for ages at your idea of steam-powered toast. I AM turning that into a strip. FACT. Immediately. (Well... soon. Soon-ish, anyway).

Thanks Conexus! As far as I know you could have as many entries as you wanted (I think Wake clarified this on the original thread somewhere) - at least I bloody hope so!!

This was my favourite of the lot. His name's Mister Skitter, and he's a mutant living in the Undercity. Basically a sort of pied piper-type character, but more loony and sinister. The real hook here was the legions of crazy mutant rats he would have, no two the same - I filled several A4 pages with drawings of these!

This was essentially a sci-fi take on the victorian legend of Spring-Heeled Jack, but with jets instead of springs on his boots. The idea was some millionaire hot-shot who gets his kicks going vigilante around the city, loved/feared by the cits, hated by the judges.

Here's the least serious of the lot, basically an excuse for me to draw a big stompy steampunk robot. The little guy (excuse the crap drawing) is Henry Jingo Gladstone, unemployed inventor, and founder and president of the Mega-City One Sector 32 Steampower appreciation society. He goes mad, builds this guy, and bingo! - much stompiness ensues!

This is one of my entries, basically an excuse for me to draw a valkyrie and have a go at a judge's uniform for the first time.

It would be something along the lines of Judge Kara having recurring strange dreams, and visits by a talking cursed earth raven (assuming they still exist!) until eventually she gets taken over by this strange supernatural power and turns into this, and starts going round the city killing those she deems worthy to join the gods (mainly judges, of course) with her magical spear (?).
Probably far too much for five pages, but I had fun.

Wow, how are those coloured? Particularly like the top one, very creepy.

Wow, that's a good, solid design. He really looks like a fully-formed character, striking and individual without being over-the-top visuals wise.

I'd post some of my own, but my web-fu sucks harder than a hoover with no teeth giving a blowjob, so I wouldn't know how.

'Whatever happened to George?'

We're told at the outset of the return to Mars arc, when Steelhorn first re-appears, that George was destroyed by Medusa while the warriors were away, 'for the ultimate crime of terraforming her.'
(Steelhorn, if you remember, as the mess, became the living blood of George and that was how George re-activated. Steelhorn exists again now becuase Medusa rebuilt him from the remains after destroying George).

Bit of a bum way to go, if you ask me. :( We never even got to see poor old George die! And sorry, but how much cooler would it have been if he had just joined the team instead of Steelhorn?

Ha ha, to be honest, fate, me too (apart from Lobster), but hey, everything has its place and all that.

Another good thing about the nature of the anthology title - you don't have to read every story!
