We’ve DONE IT - the final week of Round 1 - well done. You’ve earnt a break after all this work … so to respect that there’s one less vote this week. Just the 7 - I know I’m as generous as Tharg. If things are going to plan I might keep momentum up and BLAST straight into Round 2… enjoy the break!

Lenny Zero has a very controversial recent(ish) revival when it moved from the Meg to Prog. Will enough folks remember The Scrap to punish it?

Never heard of The Scrap, which is a shame given the creative team involved.

I see there is a collection of the Lenny Zero stories which most of them I have not read and this is the bad thing for my budget to get to full thrill I now have to get it. So Colin are you an agent for Rebellion "forcing" us to get up to date with all the thrills?

Well, I really like Lenny Zero. It's just darn good fun, and I'm a sucker for Diggle's 'Here's what was really going on all along' twist reveals, in best heist-genre tradition.

But as potentially one of the few to even remember The Scrap, I feel I have to throw it a vote, because it doesn't deserve a wipeout. Elson's art is as reliable as ever, with some great designs, and Spurrier packs an incredible amount of worldbuilding into five episodes. I particularly like how the lead has been pregnant for five years, as enforced population control dictates she's not allowed to have her baby yet. A little slice of dystopia well worth seeking out.

Totes agree with Dark Jimbo, except for the bit about really liking Lenny Zero. I remember being mighty impressed when it first ran, part of a wave of things that reinvigorated an ailing Megazine - but re-reading those early stories it's kinda smug. Diggle's plotting and Jock's art (not to mention Ben Willsher on Zero's 7), all great, the actual script, not so much.

The Scrap is more ambitious than successful, but it sure is doing something new and different for 2000AD, and more than earns my vote.

I literally have no memory of The Scrap.

I kinda agree with a couple of the comments above about Lenny Zero; it was never as good as it thought it was.

But at least it made enough of a mark that I can remember it, so my vote goes to:

Agree with the comment above about Lenny Zero being a bit smug. He always annoyed me a bit, although there was still plenty to like about the strip. I kind of wanted his plans to fail and for him to get caught out!
