Started Confederacy of Dunces over the weekend, excellent book. I know a few people who remind me of big Ignatius.

I have just unsubscribed from collection having still received nothing after they messed up my address.  I'm not hanging about for the first package when new volumes are coming into the shops.

Are others still having problems and do problems get sorted at all?

They made a complete arse of setting up my DD but I had no problems with the subscription itself, everything has turned up regularly. Finally got the DD issue resolved after a few weeks of staying on top of it myself.

Loving the Ultimate Collection so far though. As a relatively new convert to 2000ad it's a great way of catching up on classic stories, I was planning on buying TPB's anyway but getting hardbacks delivered to the door is very, very handy.

So far, Halo Jones and Strontium Dog have been my favourites.

It also felt like two or three film's worth of plot crammed into one movie - imo the film could have got enough mileage out of the 'gladiator world' setup for an entire movie's worth of plot.

They don't seem to trust another Hulk standalone movie so this seemed like a way of filming the Planet Hulk story which covers that. It's worthwhile reading it or failing that watching the animated film. I love a bit of Hulk action.

I've said it before, but I have no idea why the first film is poorly regarded in the Marvel movie canon — I think it's a delight from start to finish.

I love the first movie, it's pure Shakespeare. It's also very quotable and hasn't got a particularly complicated set up, a cocky Prince is literally brought down to Earth so he's more down to earth. I agree, don't know why it's regarded as a weak Marvel movie.

Smarter people than me will have had their say and most of what I thought has already been covered in this thread. I thought it was a brilliant movie, sound and cinematography were both top end, everything was excellent. Fantastic sequel that built on rather than retread the original. Denis Villeneuve keeps killing it, after this, Arrival and Sicario I can't wait to see his Dune movie. Loved the novel, wasn't too keen on the previous adaptation.

Saw it yesterday, really enjoyed it. Continues the trend of Marvel taking risks on directors and making fun movies (Spider Man Homecoming and both Guardians of the Galaxy movies).

Plus it has a soundtrack by one of the dudes from Devo!

Been to the cinema three times this week as I was sick recently and wanted to catch Blade Runner 2049 and Thor Ragnarok while they were still out. I can discuss those in their respective threads, just wanted to give a shout for Death of Stalin.

Dark, horrible, based on true events but hilarious and with a brilliant cast portraying real people.

If you liked any of The Thick of It, Four Lions, Veep, In the Loop, etc then you'll like this.

Special praise for Jason Isaacs as Field Marshall Zhukov, legend haha.

Yeah welcome aboard and ask away.

To make you feel better I'll ask you a question. What made you take the plunge for a sub with little know - if I may be nosey? Alway interesting to here how new follows in the cult of Tharg found his table of such plentiful bounties.

I read a lot of sci-fi and horror as it is, I was familiar with 2000ad and Dredd and it seemed like I might enjoy it so I checked out the freebies on the app. Really enjoyed some of the stuff, Zombo and Strigoi in particular, as well as some Dredd stuff I didn't know about. So I just thought screw this, I'll take the plunge.

Just finished Metro 2033, first in a trilogy of post-apocalyptic Russian based sci-fi/horror novels. As a big fan of the two Metro games I was looking forward to dipping into the books. First book is pretty good, drags slightly about 2/3rds of the way in but overall I enjoyed it.

New subscriber to 2000ad and the Megazine. Basically a complete newbie with some patchy knowledge on Judge Dredd. You'll no doubt find me pop up on here with stupid questions I can't find answers to. Looking forward to weekly/monthly progs and discussion on here.
