Oddboy, can I point out Tommo has received zero for John Wagner, even though he's got a joint writer's credit for Dredd-Aliens?

And, because I'm not winning, this league idea is clearly crap.

:-)

I reckon we should have a scan of Oddboy's letter here or on the club website.

Viva El Presidente!

And all hail the King!

Warmest congratulations to Oddboy after his brainchild reached such an historic milestone.

Never has so much time been wasted by so many people. :-)

Let's all have a party! I'll bring the potato salad and a bottle of tequila.

It's been a WHOLE WEEK since we kept this going!

And where's that updated membership list, OB-wan-kenobi?

We should have a convention - or, maybe not.

I'll join in, as proud member 000000000000007G.

Should we make it like the Knights of the Garter (ooer), where you can have only so many members?

Let's limit the membership to 534 people only.

But I think we still have some way to go...

Actually, if it came down to a Block War, I'd be tempted to suggest we all stick with Rowdy Yates.

One of the neighbours would be tough enough for us to win.

Maybe that could be a new thread? Your favourite celeb to name a block after?

Somebody else can start it. I'm away for my tea.

I've twice lapsed, reader-ship wise, but returned fairly quickly.
Both times it was a matter of months.

Is that good enough for Gold membership OBG?

By the way, pleased to be member no double-O double-O double-O (repeat as required) seven!

I respectfully request membership of the Prog 534 Club, which is clearly a much better club than that other one.

I also felt excluded from a privileged elite when they started banging on about space spinners.

All I have is a well-worn 2000AD pencil.

Let's go and fight them after school round the back of the shops.

I don't have a Prog 1 and never have.

In fact, I've only ever bought one back issue (Prog 45, found on a market stall) and, although I started with Prog 75, my earliest issues fell victim to a mother-tidying-up incident that poor old mum still feels terrible about.

By the way, Oddboygirl, that's a brilliant Prog to start off with.

Can I suggest PJ Maybe, who made his first appearance in 534, as honorary president?

You should keep a close eye out for your future self hiding behind a pot plant.

My name is MikeD. I'm a cop.

Oddboygirl's comment aboout having a drawing printed many years ago has inspired me to this.

I was also lucky enough to appear as a youngster in the hallowed pages.

Anyone else want to describe similar experiences?

- Did you win ?2 in Galactic Groats for a pen-and-ink drawing of Judge Thatcher?

- Did your letter start a lengthy debate about whether we should be called Earthlets or Terrans?

- Did you have a MC1 Cityblock named after you? (Bit of a long shot, that one.)

(NB: you can qualify for this by being called Floyd Kermode.)

For the record, my appearance was, I think, somewhere in the 600s, as a runner-up in the "applications for the Academy of Law" competition.

I won in the "Y-dult" category (up to 15 years old) thanks to a tongue-in-cheek application for Psi Div.

My prize was a Titan book, which (after a year of waiting and complaining phone call from my mum) eventually arrived with something extra.

It was autographed as "Cheers and stuff" from Steve Dillon himself, and I was sincerely thrilled.

Anyway, keen to hear similar stuff from others.

Shaky Kane's single page "weirdness" column, for me fitted in perfectly to 2KAD.

I'm very glad to see he was earlier reprieved.

Soul Sisters, however, was crap. Yes. Execute them.

Re your other comments OBG, I have been inspired to start a new Thread.

Have so far resisted the temptation to mention them, but now it has become too much.

The Space Girls must be punished!

Let's hook their eyelids open, a la Clockwork Orange, and force them to watch an endless pop concert entirely made up of Pop Idol rejects.

That'll larn em.

Alright, maybe Rose O'Rion doesn't deserve the bees.

But surely someone should be sacrificed to support the carnivorous insect population?

I'd suggest the idiots out of Urban Strike, but a lot of them died anyway, didn't they?

Let's set the buzzing chompers on Wardog.

Execute Mambo now! Sorry, Doc, but she was not cool. It was depressing pap.

Does the Doctor's unsupported support rescue the miserable morphing fool, PVS?

Say it ain't so.

Save Skizz III? Bollocks.

With all those Teddy boy aliens, robot weirdoes and undersea VW Beetles?

Let's just put them all in a barrel and send them over Niagara Falls, then fish them out, douse them in petrol and spark it up!

I'm scaring myself now.
