At a guess i read a book featuring either hulk or silver surfer (maybe in the late 80's?) memory is vague BUT what i do remember is Abomination being in the story with him in a stone room with a black cauldren, and also featured a character wrapped in bandages wearing a black hat i think was maybe trapped on earth or was to weak to leave at some point he fly's away. again sorry for being vague can anyone tell me if it was a comic annual?? and which one
loveforstitch - Does he fall in love? I like a little romance in all my movies.

Rekaert - Yes, he demonstrates it with bullets, punches and sentencing.

He's Mega City 1's own Don Juan.

Rings a bell.  Could it be the one where the Hulk (with Banner's intellect at the time) has been shrunk to mini-size and is actually inside the Abomination's ear?  If this is the one I'm thinking of, I believe the Abomination was dossing in the sewers in rags, feeling increasingly penitent as the Hulk whispered his sins in his ear.  If this is the one you're looking for, I don't think I've owned it for some time but am sure it was during a Peter David run, thinking late 80s/early 90s, quite possibly with Dale Keown as artist at least on the cover.  That's if I'm not woefully off, of course!
Can't quite place the cauldron or flying in the story, so... uh... no, I'll shut up now before I confuse the issue further.  Probably wrong but if not, hope it helps.
So this is der place then, Johnny?

Yeah I really enjoyed David's run. It had the grey Hulk, 'Joe Fixit', in Vegas as a mafia knee-breaker, that was a lot of fun. The OP's description certainly sounds like something from his run.
You may quote me on that.

Now that I think about it, it sounds like Peter David's Defender's of the Galaxy. That was The Hulk, Silver Surfer, Namor the Submariner and Dr. Strange. Does that sound right Whitbloke?

Oh, yeeeaahh...  Marlo, Joe Fixit, hookers and booze in a Mafia casino, beating rivals up thug-style because they don't know the Hulk's gone grey...  Happy days!
Do you mean that 'impromptu Defenders reunion' Annuals crossover, Pops?  The one where each of the Defenders in turn get possessed by some kind of inky-black negative-man type energy sod summoned up from another dimension and then, soon as the crisis is averted, want bugger all to do with each other again?  Well, I've clearly never heard of it but maybe it strikes a chord with you, Klute.

Those both sound like Doom Patrol, but that's an entirely different multiverse!
