Ha! It didn't really. It was just an excuse to make a feeble joke.

I didn't particularly like it though. It's the only Edgeverse strip I don't really get on with. Can't say I'm sorry to see the back of it as I'm struggling to recall a single significant thing that happened in this current series.

I quite liked this one to be honest. I wasn't wild about Ampney when it started out, but it's grown on me. Maybe it's the cheesy "tally ho" style dialogue mixed with the general weirdness, but there's a certain charm to it.

So, here's a stupid question; Why exactly was this run of Ampney Crucis called The English Assassin?

Looks like it could be fun. I definitely like GR's new look; He actually looks burned and charred all over, instead of the colgate-white skull of the last film.

The reboot is really good. I wouldn't call it the best, but it was better than Trek had been in a long time, either on the big screen or small.

*Although I wasn't so sure of the
'Bird of Prey' that can fire when cloaked. Not the concept, so much as the fact we've never seen this used again in series/films set in a later time period.
<Geek cap on>: Shinzon's ship could fire while cloaked in Nemesis. Or did you just mean Klingon ships?

I'm fond of all the original crew films, some more than others, but I do think II to IV make a great little trilogy. And VI has some great moments; zero-g assassinations, the final battle, Spock's mind-meld ineterrogation. It also has a great soundtrack.

As for the Next Gen films; I've been rewatching the series recently, and it's just been reminding me that the films were really not up to snuff. First Contact was fun, but the others were just pretty mediocre sci-fi action flicks that were really just about Picard trying to be an action star, completely out of character. Redlettermedia did some reviews of the four films that are worth a look (especially if you liked his Star Wars reviews).

I thought this was fantastic. It is really not about waiting for the apes to get to the bridge (although that part is awesome). The scenes of communication between the apes are handled brilliantly; only a few scenes are subtitled, for the rest, we're left to figure out what's going on from hand gestures and facial expressions. It works a lot like Wall-E really.

Also, there are a few nice nods to the original movie scattered throughout (and one pretty clumsy one).

The only real downer for me was Draco Malfoy; That kid is not a good actor. I know the film needed a "cruel" human to push Caeser over the edge, but he played it like a pantomime villain.

(That's the Inception music, isn't it?)

It's from the X-Men First Class soundtrack.

Can't wait to see this, both trailers have looked great.

It does sound very Logan's Run (not automatically a bad thing anyway), but it's written and directed by the fella who did Gattaca, which buys it a lot of points in my book.

I like the Spidey/ Mirror's Edge bit (as one internet wit has already called it, Peter Parkour), but the rest of it seems pretty similar to the first Spiderman film. It's got the origin, Parker voice-over, and Rhys Ifans seems to be in Willem Defoe's position as the mad scientist. I still want to see it, but I was hoping it would be a bit more of a departure.

Very cool poster. Rumour is the first teaser trailer will be out later this week too with Harry Potter. Well, in the States anyway, but if so, it should be online soon after.
