I get the same DDD. I have to switch back to Internet Explorer to watch Youtube stuff. I've lost count of the times I've installed Flash Player on Firefox only for nothing to happen and still be told I need to install it...

Sure I'm probably doing something wrong but I'm too much of a technophobe to try very hard to find out what.

Yeah, me too.  It seems there isn't a day that goes by without FB deciding that more flash is the key to an easy to use website.  Grrrrr.

Early coverage of The Wild.

Ugh! Reminds me of Cradlegrave... and not in a good way!!  ;)

Thanks for the reminder of Cradlegrave.  Yeah, it was unexpectedly (for me at least) quite good, but it's hardly a pleasurable experience.  Gah!

Yeah, it's quite obviously an elaborate fake which makes you wonder why anyone would bother.  Not very pleasant to look at, and seeing as it's static, why post a video?

It's a comment on the present toying with cellular interference. It has got scope as a background to Kingdom. What? You thought these things just appear on the page?

You fools!!

No... there's some good pissing around with visual media in that lot by the looks...

Quote1997 footage of the Death Star exploding instead of the 1977 original.

I liked that special effects video - I could watch that sort of thing all day.

I actually prefer the 1997 version of the Death Star exploding; I think the force wave gives it some scale that was sadly lacking in the original explosion.  In fact, I don't buy this opinion that the original Death Star explosion is one of the "best special effects ever"; it's not even the best explosion in Star Wars.  (I think that honour goes to the last TIE fighter as the millenium falcon escapes from the Death Star)
Be excellent to each other. And party on!

Enjoying the Ewoks upstaging the bland anchors CF. HA!

Good Lord, no!  It was terrible, like a lot of the original explosions beset by obvious real-world scale-and-gravity problems, but it's a great testament to the power of the movie that people think it was amazing, probably because it was the Death Star blowing up. Much like the Yoda puppet and soundstage swamp in Empire - it's really not a great puppet or set looked at objectively, but it was Yoda on Dagobah.

I was really just nerdily obecting to it being out of sequence in the video, and being credited to 1977 in the credits.  That, and the unfortunate fact that it came out after Star Trek VI introduced 'the Praxis wave' which rather stole its thunder.  It is a terrifically watchable video, though.

Its a sculpture

While we're talking about Star Wars, watch the last shot of Return of the Jedi - Billy Dee Williams' clapping is hysterical.  Well out of time, not just with everyone else, but even with himself.  Once you notice it, you can't help but laugh every time you see it.
