Creative Common / Scanner Advice
04 January, 2014, 01:55:17 PM
I haven't done any drawing for 12 months, so my only New Years Resolution this year is to really get back into producing finished artwork.

One immediate problem is my scanner died a while back. So can anyone recommend a good, reliable, reasonably price scanner, preferably A3.

100% Biodegrable is a new bi-monthly comic anthology and we are after writers and artist to contribute. We're preferably looking for sci-fi/fantasy/horror/adventure short self-contained stories similar in tone to 2000AD.

News / Brendan McCarthy does Dredd - Prog 1712
16 November, 2010, 05:49:52 PM
Veteran 2000AD artist BRENDAN McCARTHY has plotted and illustrated a new JUDGE DREDD two-parter, with comics writer AL EWING scripting.

In a new story called Dr. WHAT? Judge Dredd tracks down a time-travelling Doctor who rides a Mega-City Portaloo along the timewaves, altering history and changing the future in a potentially catastrophic way.

The two-issue story appears in 2000AD Prog 1712, which will be on sale in the UK on November 24th, next week.

News / Swimini Purpose in shops
07 August, 2005, 06:03:00 PM
SWIMINI PURPOSE is back from the printers and should be in shops this coming week and the week after. Check http://www.swiminipurpose.com/swimini2.html">swiminipurpose.com for a list of shops you can buy it from. I?ve got my copy and it?s truly a thing of beauty, thicker than a copy of Watchmen and so many imaginative ideas per page it?s probably illegal in several countries. There's also quite a bit of 2000AD material too.

General / Jerry Paris
04 February, 2005, 06:10:16 PM
Does anyone remember an artist called - Jerry Paris

His artwork appeared in various computer magazines in the 80?s and early 90?s, he also wrote/drew a comic-strip in ?Computer and Video Games? called ?Bug Hunters? which was reprinted as a comic by Trident. He also drew the cover of the first UK Transformers comic and also (I think) drew a couple of Transformers stories. Basically I?m after any of his artwork for a website I?m doing ? so if anyone has any of his artwork could you send it to me, or if you remember where any of his work appeared tell me so I can max out my creditcard on EBay, and finally does anyone know what he?s doing now?

How much Dredd merchandise was there made around 1995? Is there a stockpile somewhere in Eastern Europe, warehouses full of unsold Dredd slippers and tissue holders?

General / Undercity One [ fan art ]
08 December, 2004, 01:08:32 AM
As mentioned on another thread, here?s some of my artwork. Feel free to poke, prod, nudge or generally rip apart. This is from a story where a Judge slowly starts changing into one of those mutant spiders [which is why he looks a bit like a hunchback] and takes the long walk into the undercity....

Help! / Brendan McCarthy Bibliography
24 November, 2004, 05:12:44 PM
I?m trying to put together a definitive list of all Brendan McCarthy?s work for my website:

http://www.brendanmccarthy.co.uk/

So does anyone know if Brendan did any work for British comics apart from 2000AD, Star Lord and Scream.

He also did some illustration work in the early 80?s for a role playing game called ?Golden Heroes?. Has anyone got a copy? If so could they do me a huge favour and scan me the artwork he did.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

General / 2000AD videos
23 November, 2004, 06:28:41 PM
The other day I remembered in the late 80?s seeing adverts for 2000AD videos, featuring interviews with Alan Moore, Dave Gibbons, John Wagner etc? Do these videos exist, or has the mercury in my fillings made me delusional again?

Got a technical problem  - I?ve a webcounter that tells you where a hit has come from, but since I?ve been using a domain name the only thing that comes up is the actual domain name and nothing else. Is there a way to use a domain name and know where the hit is coming from?

General / McCarthy in Scream?
23 September, 2004, 05:52:48 AM
Just found this on Ebay:

"This was a short lived sister comic to 2000AD which tried to do for the horror genre what Tharg's flagship did for sci-fi. Much of the art was provided by 2000AD regulars, including Jose Ortiz, Cam Kennedy, Steve Dillon, and Brendan McCarthy, to name a few."

Is this true? Did Brendan McCarthy appear in Scream and if so what issues? If anyone has got the issues any chance of a few scans to put on my website "The Strangeness of Brendan McCarthy":

Cheers
