General / Little Britian in the Simpsons?
21 January, 2005, 10:21:42 AM
Hi folks,
Been busy with work for the past few months but will try to post when I can.  Did anyone see yesterdays Metro article on Little Britian and the Simpsons?  Seems that Matt Groenig wants David Willaims and Matt Lucas to have a few of their creations from the show visit Springfield!

Whats next?

21 December, 2004, 02:09:03 PM
Hello there,
I have just posted a review of the upcoming Gangs of Mega-City One
from Mongoose Publishing on both my site and it will be mirrored on
Gaming Report during the weekend.  The game is quick to play and
pick up and great fun and should be in game stores within the next
three weeks at the very outside.

You can find the review at the following url:

News / Re: Gangs of Mega Cit has arrived!...
26 December, 2004, 06:49:18 AM
It has already been pointed out in this thread so far that most miniature companies provide their miniatures, unpainted and unassembled, and this is of course the case with Mongooses Gangs of Mega-City One.  There was talk a while ago about going the way of Heroclix and providing ready painted miniatures, but that won't happen for Gangs in its current state I think.

There is a set of card stock miniatures planned for use with the roleplaying game, that could well be used with Gangs, but to be honest I am not too sure if they will see the light of day in the forthcoming year or not.

The miniature range is quite large and well priced with the largest models coming in at under ?10.

There are also plenty of pro-services that offer painting of your models for a small fee (well huge in some cases) and this may appeal to those who dont have the paitence or wish to paint them.  That said there is no reason that you need to acutally go and paint your miniatures, just assemble them or slot them into their bases and play the game as is.

There are plans afoot to bring a Gangs of Mega-City One tournement sometime next year, with big prizes and run in conjunction with 2000AD most likely, so keep watching the Mongoose page for more details.

I have to agree about the uniform colour, but like Supermans hair its something that we will have to just live with.  Most of my judges are painted with a black body suit and the senior judges for the game have the midnight blue, basically to denote the fact they are of a higher rank when people play the game at demonstrations.

Same can be said about the shoulder pad/eagle. Is it yellow as in the comics, or golden as in the movie and on the Harrop statues?

Hi there,
Been really busy the past few months with work so I haven't been able to post that often, but here are a few images of my own skysurfer. Painted as the Midnight Surfer rather than a generic surfer and complete with tape over the name and smiley face.  The full range of miniatures is excellent and Lawmaster has to be seen to be believed.

Film & TV / Re: Hellboy Review
10 September, 2004, 05:49:35 AM
Saw the movie back in early June on a preview DVD sent by a friend and loved it, but its far better on the big screen and I for one think its one of the best comic to film movies since The Crow.

Rons performance in Hellboy was a mile better than playing Viceroy in Star Trek Nemesis. Hes an excellent actor who can really show his craft as in Name of the Rose, and I agree he needs a really big break, its about damn time.

RON FOR DREDD I TELLS YA RON FOR DREDD

Almost anything from Aliens;

Apone:A day in the corp is like a day on a farm.

Apone: They aint paying us by the hour people!

Hudson:Someone said illegal alien and she signed up.

Hudson:As anyone ever mistaken you for a man Vasquez?

Burke:Sit round the fire roast a few marshmallows sing some songs.

How long till she blows?

Vasquez:Day-old jerk off!

Hes coming in. I feel safer already.

Anything at all that Hudson says.

Hicks:Take off and nuke the site from orbit. (a general saying everytime we play Halo)

Eat this (again Halotastic)

Robocop
Clarance: Can you fly Bobbie

Father Ted
Father Dougal: Ted those women where in the nip!

Father Ted: Okay we will try again. (holds up plastic cow) these are very small. (looks through window) And those are far away!

King Kong
Carl Denham: It was beauty who killed the beast

and my favourite line of all time is the following.

The Crow
Eric Draven: Mother is the word for god on the lips and hearts of all children!

Watched it back in June on a pirate vcd (crappy sound though) then bought the region 1 dvd and finally took my son to see it on the big screen last night. Excellent film, one of the best comic adaptations I have seen since The Crow.

I met Tom Cruise when he was in London for Vanilla Skys and the guys nice, even smaller than me and Im tiny. Days of Thunder was such a let down for most of his fans as it followed so close to Top Gun and thats one of his best movies even if it is in the high concept niche.

Word on the streets is that Collateral is excellent however and could land the small one his first Oscar.

Cruise has been trying to get this movie going for around the past 6 years or so and teaming up with Speilburg can only help things.

I know I may get flamed for this but I havent seen a bad Cruise movie yet, you get exactly what it says on the tin.

I acutally found out last night that you dont have to move to Swindon after all so this may be of interest to some writers now. Working from for ?10k or so is better than having to relocate.
