Any chance the 2000ad bods could give away a series of alternative BluRay/DVD covers for the forthcoming release of the film with the Prog?
Maybe a selection from the comic's most iconic Dredd artists and including that Jock Mondo poster, seeing as it looks that a BluRay steel book is off the cards.

Great idea!

I'd buy one in an instant!

A cover like Jock's mondo poster

or a 'classic' look

would be really cool!

Not to mention something in the lines of the star wars ones Radiator made (those are insanely mega!) !

A review of the old trade. http://dreddreviews.blogspot.se/2012/05/wilderlands.html

Which I belive gives an idea that farewell to the chief is missed at the party, and that further closure would do the story good.

It'd certainly help make something more substantial of a period many consider a bit of a lost weekend in the strip's history.

But some of the stuff is quite well praised right? I particulary like this panel

I'm glad the Mechanismo TPB exists - I jumped ship from the Case Files after the Necropolis aftermath in 15, and plan to pick it up again around the time of The Pit (21? 22?) so it plugs a signifcant gap for me.

I'm on a similar note, but with 14.

I see that Inferno tpb also where released at the same time as it was collected in a cf. Just as Mechanismo. I hope wilderland follows the same pattern.

What would you think of the following? A book with:

"Conspiracy of Silence"
"Prologue"
"The Tenth Planet"
"Wilderlands" (the 2000AD-progs.)
"The Candidates"
"Farewell to the Chief" (From the Judge Dredd magazine)
"Death of a Legend"

Could be called Death of a legend or Farewell to the chief, due to Hilda's end. Both giving the wilderland story weight and serving as a farewell to her.

Also serving as a conclusion of Mechanismo.

I understand if some think it's not to far away in a CF. But Mechanismo 1-3 was also released when it was near showing up in a CF.

Personaly I'd love to see this happen. Opening with Hilda sending Dredd to Titan and ending with him carrying her "You deserved better.".

Adding another one of Dredd's small steps of becomming a bit more human. A bit like brothers of the blood or Complete America.

And it would work well on it's own too. Dredd as a prisoner is a great read. Good fun and one hell of a ride.

(I accidently posted this in another thread, but couldn't find a button to delete my post. I meant for it to be posted as a thread. Sorry if this is seen as spamming the board, it wasn't my intention)

A Wilderlands trade with:

"Conspiracy of Silence"
"Prologue"
"The Tenth Planet"
"Wilderlands" (the 2000AD-progs.)
"The Candidates"
"Farewell to the Chief" (From the Judge Dredd magazine)
"Death of a Legend"

Could be called Death of a legend or Farewell to the chief, due to Hilda's end. Both giving the wilderland story weight and serving as a farewell to her.

Also serving as a conclusion of Mechanismo.

I believe it to be logical to release the book since the story itself is just one or two Case files away, something mechanismo also where when it was released as a trade.

Personaly I'd love to see this happen. Opening with Hilda sending Dredd to Titan and ending with him carrying her "You deserved better.". Adding another one of Dredd's small steps of becomming a bit more human.

I know she's got a blade down there, but that image suggests something else. Also, Headey looks totally different in that pic.

I'v never seen Ma-Ma looking that charming before. Great pic:)!

Games / Re: WII U
19 November, 2012, 07:11:00 AM
I'll probaply wait a couple of month till it got more games.

Release games tend to be hit and miss.

But I still love the wii. It holds some of the absolutely best games I'v played and recent games like Xenoblade and Pandoras tower are great.

I really hope that SUDA51 and Treasure realeses something on WIIU. And that the E-shop is a hit, so that a lot old classic pc-games could be released on it. GOG-kind of releases.

Hopefully adventure games from lucas arts too, I think Grim Fandango could  be a match in heaven for the system. And of course Monkey Island.

If anyone wonders what I mean with "great wii games". It's No more heroes2, Metroid Prime triolgy, Sin and punishment 2, Zelda skywards sword, Epic Mickey and alike. Imaginative and great adventures, love those.

http://hellotailor.blogspot.se/2012/09/the-new-judge-dredd-movie-is-great.html

"The surprising 95% Rotten Tomatoes rating and the presence of Cersei Lannister as the primary villain (!!!), however, were enough for me to give it a try"

"95% Rotten Tomatoes rating". Those were the days, eh?

"After watching Dredd, I realised that the reason why it seemed so... weird, I guess... is that it didn't follow the kind of predictable cliches I was expecting. This type of movie -- especially one with an adults-only rating -- usually has very poorly-drawn characters and a lot of throwbacks to grindhouse cinema, but despite Dredd's plethora of extreme violence it never really went that route. Although it has the basic plot of a shoot-em-up videogame, the decision and emotional reactions made by the characters were far, far more intelligent and realistic than other movies of the genre"

Cheers for that, Hula; I'll keep it in my pocket for the next time clr03f starts banging on about how this film only appeals to teenage boys.

Good idea! But it seems like if he's absent from IMDB now. Could be he's learning german towards the premiere there or writing material for the bluray/dvd release? Hopefully I'll never need to know.

But to the analysis itself. Love it that the movie is gaining momentum with women. Gives me hope that I'll someday find the perfect lady, who also happen to like DREDD tihi.

I imagine something similar to these two trailers to 300 and Sin city. Violence and voice overs. Two movies who in my opinion are even more video game-ish and should have been harder to sell than Dredd, but still made a mint.

Hopefully when the bluray/dvd is released tributes with the DREDD ost will flood youtube. Or the intro to it.

Just something to give an idea how good the film really looks and goes with the soundtrack. Or that it's Judge Andersons story, and that it'll make you want to stand up and clap when the end hits ;)

Instead of shoehorning it into La Roux - In for the Kill with jump cuts and pissing people off realising they showed Ma-Ma getting killed in the trailer :'(
