They've tweaked the gameplay too, like speeding up the sailing sections for instance.

I've got a wiiU somewhere. Think its under a pile of dust in the corner. Nice unit, nothing worth playing.

Yeah, similarly, if you were thinking of selling it on...

I'd always taken it as read that the Ninty stuff's main selling point was that unlike Xbox or PS3 it was unashamedly a child's toy for mucking about with.

This is what's known as a mis-conception and is usually only perpetuated by pre-pubescent, immature gamers, who won't play anything unless it has GTA or Call Of Duty slapped on the box, because anything they consider less "hardcore" is just too "gay" and are overheard to exclaim words like "owned" or "pawned."
Thankfully gamers who have played Nintendo consoles since the Game & Watch and NES days know otherwise.   ;)

Wasn't really looking to illustrate my original point, but cheers anyway.

I defy anyone who calls Nintendo a kids toy to play some of the later levels on Mario galaxy.

Quote from: JamesC on 01 October, 2013, 12:59:57 PMYou could probably pick up an old Gamecube with the original Wind Waker (and OOT master quest), the original Pikmin, Mario Sunshine, Rogue Leader, Resi Remake or Resi 4 and Metroid Prime or something for less than half the [£320] price and it would be a comparable dose of fun.
About three years ago I bought pretty much exactly this bundle (no Rogue Squadron) for thirty quid. Don't suppose this is much help to anyone contemplating the WiiU, but you're right about it being good stuff.

Sadly our Rogue Squadron Gamecube disc is scorrupted. It'll play but only certain missions.  Still perfect for a bit of post pub blasting. Just loved taking down a Star Destroyer with the B-Wing.

The Gamecube was a brilliant console, with a raft of superb games, including the Resident Evil 1 remake the excellent Resident Evil 0 and of course the groundbreaking Resident Evil 4 which really showed the graphical power of the machine.
Regarding Rogue Squadron, it was an excellent game and even the maligned sequel, with it's mediocre on foot levels, had some superb sequences like the snow speeder Hoth level and striking first person speeder bike Endor level and great for gamers of a certain age, unlockable versions of the Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back arcade games.
A really great package.

The best thing about the Rogue Squadron 2 was it included the entire first game as a split screen co-op!  I had many a happy evening shouting 'It's a trap!' as my friends and I pulled away from that still active shield.

That's a good deal but I can't justify the expense with a PS4 on pre-order already.
If it had included a hard copy of Wind Waker I may just have caved in to temptation. Digital download codes in bundles just feel a bit underwhelming somehow.

Bah! Can't see the 200 quid deal but at least I know they are out there.

It was a one day flash sale, I'm afraid. But I have a hankering for the Mario + Luigi pack out in a week or so.
Lock up your spoons!
