It's all right, that's in every contract.
That's what they call a sanity clause.
You can't fool me, there ain't no sanity clause.

Mat thats awesome, what Prog did you use? Painter? Been meaning to try it! Love the near 'penciled' feel on the shading of the face.

Scweet! I'm a bit board with PS for painting, can't seam to get the effects I want. I think I use it too much for work so I think to technical in it instead of artistically.

Ooo I'm kinda hoping that Zarjaz have an Armoured Gideon story on the books looking for a suitable artist...
if I went 'round saying I was an Emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!

All good stuff as ever chaps. A fantastic Gideon, stunning Joker and cracking robots.

Here's my tribute to that handsome man-god Bill Paxton, for The Weekly Themed Art Blog:

Dunk!

Top work all, especially the Timson Joker - so hard to do anything fresh with him.

Emperor: If only that were the case! :) Doing a comic in 2000ad would be a definite career highlight! I think I need to do some more comic stuff before that happens tho!

Thanks for the compliments peops.

Mr. Chilli; Robojudge is well cool.

Grimm I love the texture you got in the tones! Photoshop? Is it an ink sketch first or all computer? lots of cool shit going on there!

That's why I suggested Zarjaz, a great way to hone your talents drawing the characters from the Galaxy's Greatest Comic, for the Galaxy's Greatest Fanzine.

Thanks Malicious, it's a pencil drawing, darkened in photoshop, then I added 3 or 4 separate layers to gradually build up the tones, smudging them to achieve a sort of watercolour effect. Then I threw on a texture layer - piece of paper stained with tea and coffee, colour burn set at about 50-60% opacity. Last thing I did was flatten it and give it that reddy hue. It's a fairly new approach for me, one I've been trying out on some character sketches for a new strip, but I'm actually really enjoying working straight over the pencils and not inking for a change.
