Well, I've been gone for quite a few months - And if anything the depravity seems to have decreased.

That said, I've only been checking the odd thread here and there - Not quite caught up with the progs yet.

Film & TV / Re: Hellboy on five..

I've only seen it once, and was out when it was on TV - But I loved it a lot more than I thought I was going too. It's not perfect, and in places it's incredibly daft - But it can also surprise you, and pull something extremely cool, emotional or serious out of the bag from time to time. A nice mix.

That said, I haven't read a Hellboy comic, so maybe if I had my point of view would be coloured differently.

Ah, but y'know, killing characters for the sake of being cool and edgy is *almost* as bad as bringing them back to life all the time. At least most 2000ad deaths are final, in DC and Marvel you have to wonder 'Oh yeah, when will *he* be coming back again...' if some random passer by dies in the street...

I think, *think* that means that the controller is having connection problems - Or in the case of wireless controllers, is going flat. If not, then the wire is probably loose/not connected all the way.

Yet more Spoilering...

I dunno, by all the 'trophies' arrayed on his wall - Ryan is certaintly no stranger to disposing of those who've 'wronged' him. Remember the woman he had that detective bloke kill just because she wrote a few dodgy lyrics regarding him? I don't think it's too far fetched to believe he killed out of rage/because of what Jasmine had done (birthing you and all) but then... It is a lot more fun to think of Ryan as a sneakier begger than he was (seemingly) portrayed. So I like that theory! :)

Urgh, I seem to be constantly knocking the E off Fontaine's name...

Still spoiling everything....

Some interesting points up there, although you most definatly *are* Ryan's son - Cause at one point Fontain says as much (he seems to have a random set of taunts for when he's stopping your heart, as I seemed to get different one's on every save.) and when Jasmine (the stripper) is being murdered in ghost-form (or is it in the audio diary under her bed?) she does say something along the lines of 'I didn't know Fontain was involved...' The bit about Ryan sounds pretty reasonable to me, and certaintly in character - I still reckon he's weasled out of death though.

As for the second paragraph - I don't think Cohen had anything to do with it, if only because I do  think he's genuinely insane and completely unstable, and most certaintly liable to just 'let you go'. Still, that's what's great about the game - It's all very possible!

Yet more spoilers, probably

I'm hoping they do go with the vita chamber theory, if they do indeed want to make Bioshock into a franchise (they're *already* talking about number two, and releasing one every two years!), I'd like to see more Ryan... And it'd just seem to be a bit of a plothole to me if he was dead.

SPOILERS:

A lot of people seem to think that Ryan wanted you to kill him to prove he had a choice, and was a MAN. Nobody was going to take anything from him, he was going to be the archietect of his own downfall. I, on the other hand, think he's being a sneaky begger - If you pick up one of the audio diaries, it notes that the Vita-chambers that so very often bring you back to life are atuned to Ryan's own spefific genetic code - So I'm wondering, did he throw himself onto the sword so he could creep back later when the whole Fontaine thing died down?

Absolutely amazing game. Best the Xbux has to offer so far, by far. The mood, the setting, the details and the story are all top notch, and the game it's self was just a joy to play.

The orchestral score is up for free download on the main site too :D

Oh, and hi everybody!

There used to be a big Curve fan working for Top Gear, the highlight of watching the shows was to spot which tracks they were playing at the time. There were even some quite obscure, not very obvious ones alongside Hell Above the Water and Chinese Burn (both used in Buffy and several film trailers), so it was nice.

Saw advent calenders in poundland and a large selection of Christmas cards in Card Factory on Saturday.

And to think, I was shocked to see all the Halloween stuff out last month...
