Wayhey more Funt Solo data goodness. Do we think the 40th Special and the Annual are just themed regular specials... and when I say we do I mean I... hmmmmm

Richard

That's a nice chart. However you left off the Rogue Trooper Annual in 1991, the Dan Dare Annuals in 1979 and 1980, the 2000AD Action Special and the Rogue Trooper Action Special.

Great stuff Funt, just interesting the big gaps we had but now it looks like specials will yet again be part of our life.
When I die, I want to die like my grandfather who died peacefully in his sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in his car.

Old age is the Lord's way of telling us to step aside for something new. Death's in case we didn't take the hint.

Tornado and Starlord weren't specials though.

Yes they were - one summer special each, two Tornado annuals and three Starlord annuals.

You could go either way on that aspect of 2000 AD archaeology, but as those comics became so intertwined you could easily include them as part of the pantheon.

Hang on, while I fiddle with the knobs and dials a bit...

Of course!

If we're counting them, should we also count Diceman?

(Edit:) Also there were the poster progs. A Dan Dare poster prog in 1977, Judge Dredd 1-5 in 1993-94, and one each for Slaine, Rogue Trooper, Strontium Dogs and Nemesis.

Wow that grew rapidly! Excellent work.

I excluded those on the basis that they weren't yearly items - all five Dicemen (?) came out in the same year, so they'd appear as a blip. Similar issues with the poster progs (e.g. two Dredd poster progs in 1994) make them tricky to fit into the format.

But coming back to Diceman...
