Posted this on facebook recently, a vintage style 1970's ish Judge Dredd figure. About 4", four points of articulation, sculpted and painted in a 1970's style using sculpy clay and acrylic paint. Apologies for crappy photos..

Primed and ready to paint.

Suggestions / David Pugh Dredd
26 March, 2015, 03:50:47 PM
I've no idea if he draws comics anymore but I would love to see David Pugh draw Judge Dredd. This may have to be a commission request I guess but am I alone in thinking he would do an amazing Dredd?

Creative Common / Dredd Model
15 October, 2012, 04:26:14 PM
Heres a new one, havent got access to the best camera at the minute so not the best pictures. Usual wire frame/sculpy combo, freestanding (though I will do a base) and about 8" tall. Its a bit of a McMahon tribute (hopefully moreso when its painted).

Heres the figure in its untouched sculpy tone.

Same pic BW.

Another angle.

Creative Common / Shakara Model
11 April, 2012, 03:03:59 PM
Heres a few progress shots of a Shakara model Im making. Hes about 7-8" high-ish, wire frame/ super sculpy and epoxy resin. Still working on the base and have yet to fix on all his rib spikes etc. Hes primed almost ready for a paint job, the flesh coloured bits are where Ive re-applied sculpy details. More pics when he gets a paint job etc.

Heres a McMahon Dredd bust I had a go at ages ago, not 100% finished. It sits on my bookshelves. 3 3/4" tall. I used my old 'Crime' T-shirt loosely as reference and intended on finding a small chain to attach to the badge to finish it off. I tried as best I could to colour match to the image.

Creative Common / Judge Harry Heston model
24 April, 2011, 12:59:08 PM
This is my model of Judge Harry Heston from the pages of W.R. Logans' 'Class Of '79' fanzine from a few years ago. Designed by J.T. Pegg and with his first two appearances in Co'79  illustrated by Henry Flint. Its 95% finished and sculpted in milliput and super sculpy standing apprx 8". Theres a couple of other pics and more about Co'79 with some of J.T's Harry pieces here-

Any chance we can have some kind of 'Statues, figures and models' section here? A place to post images and review released and fan made models etc. There have been some great threads about various Slaine sculpts and 2000ad lego, loads of 2000ad character statues (Mean, Dredd, Death, Rogue Trooper etc), Mangamax work, comps featuring dioramas such as 'that' Block War one, 'that' Lawmaster and 'bearded' Judge, Fan built costumes, Termight Replicas, Reaction and Ledgendary heroes figures, etc,etc... Would anyone else be interested in this? I ask because I cant always find images Im looking for with the search option.Cheers!

18 October, 2007, 11:27:53 PM
Does anyone have, know how to get, know someone who knows someone etc- any way of gettin a good run of this (I mean the Moore/Leach/Davis run in particular)? Any photo copied and filed versions doing the rounds? Just curious. Ive been having a butchers at my few Warrior comics and read an old Alan Davis interview recently talking about how it went tits up in the end and really wish I had at least all the Warrior stuff. Im pissing in the wind aren't I? There was a GN wasn't there too..?

General / Tooth Fanzines
17 October, 2007, 10:40:51 PM
I really enjoy the current fanzines such as Zarjaz and Dogs Breath etc and enjoyed Class of '79 too but Im just wondering if anyone has any examples of older fan material or small press pieces or strips that they could post up and share here? Were there any other fanzines dedicated to 2000ad in the 70's and 80's that anyone here remembers..?

General / Sinister Ducks
02 May, 2003, 07:10:45 AM
Excerpt from The Daredevils (precursor to Mighty World of Marvel) no 8, August 1983-

"Not contentwith his invasion of American comics, Alan Moore is aso planning to invade the record charts as part of the Sinister Ducks. Alan calls the single " a double B side" and has named Dave Jay of Bauhaus as an accessory before, during and after the fact.
'Old Gangsters never die' can be found on one side of the single while 'The March of the Sinister ducks ' is squatting on the other. The whole affair will be available from Beggars banquet sometime in July".

Right then, anyone else familiar with this and was it any cop?..

General / Dredd design for new film
09 March, 2003, 04:57:39 AM
Okay Im probably being a tad premature here but how should Dredds costume for any forthcoming film be handled?
I think the Stallone vessel was too lycra and shiny for Dredd. I think a creased leather suit (think early McMahon/Ezquerra/MadMax, with darker green armour/pads and less 'shiney' eagle etc.Itd benefit from a Boba Fett sort of used/'lived in' vibe to the ensemble ie Dredd is out fighting crime 22 hours a day and has no time to spit and polish his gear. I hated the shineyness of the Dredd film, whos with me on a sartorially grimey approach...
ps Im very drunk.

24 December, 2002, 05:19:41 AM
In the ongoing history of tooth in the megazine Ive read about 2000ad.alt.something back in the early-mid eighties, did any of you lot go on it? What was it like? How long has 2000adonline been around? What was it like in the beginning?
Please regale me with some stories about the early web days of tooth.
