Using all of my analytical powers and a touch of lightening in photoshop I can confirm that yes, it is a camel toe and yes, I would still hit it like a runaway train.

Strewth! What a weekend that was!

I had a great time on the Hell Trek and it was great to meet so many of the boarders there. Also great to meet some of the pros up there, being greeted by Al Ewing asking me if I was the one who wanted a sketch of a knob with Dredds helmet on is one of my proudest moments. Up there with Simon Bisley calling me a c**t for sure!

Got my copy of Dr WTF!? signed by Colin MacNeil, signed a few copies of it myself, got another lovely sketch of Michel Rodrigue and spent most of my money at the Cinebook table again.

I hope someone has a photo of Richmonds outfits for the weekend somewhere, his white suit on Saturday was brilliant but he took a leap of genius on Sunday with his kilt/Hawaiian shirt combo. Truly a fashion icon for us all to aspire to!

Sorry for the radio silence, chaps. I have been busy working on some things that should hopefully see the light of day up at Hi-Ex.

I am now completely sorted for tickets and hotel (staying at the mercure) and am thoroughly looking forward to meeting all of you, even though you'll probably all be asleep by the time I get picked up.

I have decided to pack in the idea of going by train thanks to the cost and times of them being ridiculous. Now I shall be joining up with the Hell Trek as it travels through the central belt!

Having looked at the train times and costs, I think it might be better for me to join up with the Hell Trek so I'll put my name down. Any chance you'll be heading past Livingston on the way up? If you are heading along the M8 I could jump on somewhere along there.

Especially if you could rig up black goo to shoot out the top of your head...

Wouldn't a Slaine costume just be a bit of cloth and a tub of woad?

I think a simple Slaine costume would be good for us poorer fans of 2000AD who want to dress up. There could be loads of us at a con dressed up as Slaine, we could dress up a child like Ukko and chase him around the town to promote the convention (or just fulfill our Slaine related fantasies). Later on we could collectively gang up on the Biz and shoot our black goo over him until he agrees to do some more painted Slaine.*

MrStu - I have used imageshack.us for image hosting and it seems to work. Also Photobucket is quite popular for this sort of thing.

I'm looking forward to seeing it, there are a lot of small pressers on here (myself included) and we really want to help each other make great comics and that will come with some critique. There is nothing wrong with being sensitive to critique, we all were at some point. Heck, it wasn't all that long ago that I used to fall into deep, drunken, suicidal despair by even mildest criticisms of my art. I felt they weren't passing judgement on my art but on me as a person, after all this creative thing is quite an egotistical affair.

Overcoming this was one of my first steps to becoming the artist I have always believed I can be, which I am sadly still a long way from being.

It beats being one of those deviantart types that have been badly drawing faeries for 20 years, exploding in rage when one of the commenters even mildly mentions something like anatomical accuracy.

Hunted down that Total Film interview, and she says Urban's 'completely a dude' or totally a dude or something along those lines anyway. What the hell does that mean?

I worry that it means we will be able to see Karls junk through the costume.

I couldn't help noticing that Slaine gets a mention on the Planet Replicas licenses page. Please tell me that we will be seeing a Slaine costume for sale! I will buy one in a heartbeat, especially if it comes with a ruddy great axe!

And yes, I would dress up in Slaine garb for the sole purpose of harassing a drunken Simon Bisley at conventions.

[Turning the damn things on.]

On Sunday, I set my Dad up on the first computer he's ever had. It was quite scary seeing how little he knew - or rather, how much I take for granted. Things like maximising the window, typing into boxes or even clicking on something with the mouse were all alien concepts to him. I tried as best as I could, but after a while he was just nodding and not really getting it. Good on him for trying though...

I think it is something all of our generation has had to go through, Banners

My mother, sick of being behind the technological curve compared to my father and I, went to one of these beginners computer courses at our local college and passed it with flying colours. The very next day she was on the phone to me, in tears, about how she had broken the family computer (more specifically, my dads PC, his pride and joy in life) so I drove across town to fix it.

When I arrived she was still in tears exclaiming nothing she was doing could get it power up. I pressed the power button on the tower and it turned on normally.

Turns out the college course taught her how to use a PC in their library where they turn on all the PCs in the morning before anyone arrives, conveniently allowing them to skip over the most important lesson in computer usage. Turning the damn things on.

My mother had spent the morning clicking the mouse buttons and saying "On" at the tower, working herself into a frenzy worrying about the damage she had wrought upon the PC. So traumatized was she by this experience she has never used a computer since.

I'm hoping to go up there and much like the Enigmatic Doctor X, I will let the train take the strain. I don't think my car could handle another convention road trip, the ride from Edinburgh to Bristol in the summer nearly finished the bugger off.

Currently getting my ass kicked at Dark Souls and loving every minute of it!

["Dechmont Woods Encounter"]

Not many legends round my way because the town only came into existence in the 70's but there was a very famous alien encounter on a hill up the road from me.

It was the "Dechmont Woods Encounter" in which a forestry worker basically had the living daylights scared out of him and his clothes shredded by some kind of UFO.

Nowadays local youths take cocktails of drugs and buckfast, go up the hill and see if they can have a close encounter with some aliens. Mainly because if they do they can sell their story to one of the red tops which gets them more money than the dole, allowing them to buy more drugs and buckfast.
