I think you are all missing the point of me running these tournaments. As any major 'sporting' body I'm wickly corrupt and if you want any adjustment to voting I need the appropriate ... budget shall we say... to carry out the administration involved.

Preferably from a luxary boat in some sunny, tropical cove or other.

PM me with brides appropriate offers for research budgets...

Assuming Proteus Vex goes out, that and Devlin should have their own competition of greats ejected from the competition while the likes of flipping Fr1day sail on.

That's the kinda thing that Broodblik excels at.

3
Whatever happens here we lose a superb thrill and its good to see both getting praise. Keep it up today and I'll wrap it up in the morning. The more we talk about great thrills like these the more we remember how lucky we are.

Almost time here and there'd need to be a twist in the tail for this one to turn around on the last day... do you see it, do you see what I did... good huh... well I thought it was. They'll be a result in the morning regardless.

Week 3 of Round 3 is ‘One and Done’ week with no fewer than 3 of the surviving Future Shockesque stories appearing. They all have very interesting ties and … well we’ll see. In my mind though, intriguing as those clashes are, is a modern master's face-off that is one of the ties of the Round for me, not everyone I imagine, but for me…

You could wonder how the heck a thrill like Friday’s Rogue Trooper has got to Round 3, when we’ve lost thrills like Devlin Waugh and Zombo already. Well here we must understand luck of the draw and to be fair Friday has rid us of both Dinosty and Dead Meat so far, so it's doing everyone favours. Storm Warning has had a harder passage … well after Really and Truly taking out okayyyy thrill Asylum.

Just reply in this thread naming your favourite thrill of these two series at the beginning of your post (or use Bold tags so I can spot it easily) and say what you like about these wonderful stories after that.

Match ends early on the morning of Sunday 29th May and the winner gets a place in Round 4 (of 9!!!).

What on Earth is ALL of this?

For those that need ‘um and can be bothered to follow ‘um there’s some simple rules

Any questions, just ask as ever - and have FUN

Those Robo-Tales have taken out few done in ones Tales from MC-1 and 86ers thus far. It will face a much stiffer challenge with Survival Geeks, conqueror of Soul Gun Warrior, a delightful thrill that was funny and charming and made the smart move of knowing when to bow out.

VOTING CLOSED

Same score in both ties today. This was one was more toe to toe with the thrills exchanging blows that the tail [not a typo a hint] of two half the other tie was. Both great thrills not its nice to see a controverial reimagining get the credit it teethy delight deserves and

Hookjaw

will be haunting the shores of Round 4.

VOTING CLOSED

Wow that was intense. Insurrection opened a 7 : 1 lead in the early voting and looked to be sweepign this one. The Future Shocks started to come back, and back and back. Even however even when FS was on top form it wasn't consistence enough and Insurrection was still pulling votes in. Yep it was intense but at the end of the day

Insurrection

held the line to fight in Round 4. The voting seemed fitting!

... So... Ant Wars, because, like, giant man-eating ants.

Just thin we need to remind folks of this more often. GIANT MAN-EATING ANTS... some with wings. I think your allowed to change you votes...

The more this one perculates in my noggin the more I wonder if the right answer is Ron Smith. Not cos of his Dredd but rather the way he truly defined the citizens of Mega City One that are so fundament to the series as a whole... I need to rumniate some more...

Is it an Alan McKenzie rights thing that has prevented it being reprinted? Were as Summer Magic was worth sorting that out for Moonrunners just doesn't justify any additional work?

12
Another close one, but think I know which way its going. Reckon a strong showing from either today will defo seal it. Vote today for tomorrow we annouce.

13
There seemed to be only one result on this one but Future Shocks have dominated the second half of this tie seem to have come back. Wow will final day votes push it either way? I'll let you know tomorrow morning so vote today.

When Glimmer Rats - who have already seen off Big Dave and Whatever Happened to - go to war its a dark and horrible affair, with little chance of survival and mud, grim and death everywhere. When D.R. And Quinch go to war, sure there was some mud and slime, but it was more about guns carved from soap, escaping through tunnels with a vet in drag and being saved by mum… yes these are very different strips!

Are the two female protagonists here really comparable? One a rather cliche thief with a heart. Who so far has bested Roadkill and Finn (good result that!) the other a dark and twisted war veteran. Damaged as much by her brutal father as the war on NuEarth. A full, rounded and fascinating character, victor over Soul Sisters… can you tell I’m leaning one way on this one….
