Film Discussion / FIRST LAWMASTER PIC FROM DREDD!

hhmm...kinda agree with others, too much going on in the front end...but I'm starting to believe the "Gritty" Mega City 1 Urban Nightmare setting.
Thought it would end being a type of TRON type bike that the driver could bend forward for high speed pursuits.
Hope it looks better from the front. Uniform looks great to me despite the bulkiness prob due to stunt padding.
Security asleep on the job again.....well done IMG for protecting your property...I'm afraid others will definately slant the film after this shot.

Now starting to miss the JDMN site for putting all DREDD related news on one site.  >:(
We're missing out on little bits of news.

Perpective of an Welsh born actress Rakie Ayola(not listed on IMDB) on her impending part in DREDD. Not really about the movie.

It made Comics Alliance today:

www.comicsalliance.com/2011/01/18/john-wagner-judge-dredd-fan-questions/

Another comic book fansite with a take on the John Wagner Facebook account.
http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/ActionFigureNews/news/?a=28287
Good reaction as well in the feedback, and I got my name in there as well in the John Wagner comments extract.  :)
Although no mention of alpachas or vuvuzelas???

Enjoy.....shame Wagner came and ruined the party today with his tales from South Africa
I'll get the subscription started from Prog 2011, the Christmas Edition, that's where a lot of the current stories started up.
That's a nice gesture in return as well Michael.  :)

Michaelvk,
a number of the members here on the board felt you deserved something in recognition of your valued contribution to the forum.
I know it's been a difficult week for you, we won't go into the details of what happened as it's been done and dusted. Whether justified or not, they've lost what was a great movie fanbase liaison that steadied the nerves of many fans with great updates and information. You've turned the tide on a lot of opinions including my own. I was on the fence for a long time on the project but I'm fully on board with the reboot. In my case, I was following the thread as a long term non member and decided to join because of the thread.
Those that contributed included Steve Green, Joe Soap, Gavin Leahy, James Stacey and myself(with many more wishing they could and sending their best wishes) and figured the least you deserved out of this mess is a sub for the galaxy's greatest comic. :)
If you PM me with your contact and address details, I set up the year long subscription to 2000AD down to South Africa.
This is not a reward or sympathy thing, this just our way of saying thank you and we do care what happens to members.
I'm sure there will be a lot of messages after this to wish you well on your future projects. Now at least you have a resaon to come onto the forum to discuss next weeks prog and not on the movie.

Time to lock this thread and move on...?

Agreed, though it *does* act like a lightning conductor, keeping the rest of the forum (relatively) movie free ...
Sad situation..but understandable. Main reason why I came on 2000adonline...for the movie news thread and came from realms of just reading the comics since 1990.

John Wagner's a grown man, not a kid who still believes in Santy.

I understand what you are saying and although I'm angry at the situation like many others but the situation could easily spiral further out of control if someone decides to put it to the creator for "ALL" to see. It could be messey.

Don't insult Mr. Wagner's intelligence. He can choose to ignore any comment just like he can choose to read this thread or not. He knows how to use a computer too.
As opposed to what??? Posting this thread on his FB and waiting for his answer on the matter?? I just don't want some pissed off idiot putting it on his page when at least there is no "white elephant in the room" to ignore.
John in all his honesty would end up responding to it if you do follow his page, be aware that DNA and IM Global could be gauging his response on FB when he goes over.
If that is put to him before hand...he's no longer fully neutral and I'm not sure if the companies would be happy in that regard.

To everyone on here who is on John Wagner's Facebook
It's prob better not to mention what's going on here to him on his Facebook page, we don't want to be giving John a bad vibe before he goes. I would want him to go as a neutral and enjoy the experience at least.
I hope he doesn't come across this thread.
So everyone :-X about this on his page and no PM's to him on the blog and Michaelvk situations.

Damn, I'm getting no work being done by me today :-\

I wonder if John Wagner will talk  about what he sees on set, on his Facebook page when he gets back. Or will they tell him to stop writing Dredd!
Jeez and I asked him to take photos.  :o

Action speaks louder than words here guys.
Whilst not agreeing with all the work done , Michael was undoubtedly a fine Ambassador for the project, and to react the way they have is beyond pathetic..

To Michaelvk, I'm in work now, lucky to be working and even got a promotion in this economy. Lately been spending far too much time checking out the movie news from Crave Noir and your day to day set work on the forum.
I've a baby on the way in May/June and getting married this year.
You lost your job indirectly because I asked you a straight forward question.
While you revealed no name, the punishment for my curiousity has cost you your job. I'm absolutely devastated by the DNA studios reaction. If I lost my job like that, I'm not sure what I'd do and how I would support my family.
For the first time, I feel sick in my stomach about your situation as I hope the circumstances that caused this will not follow you in your career.
I can feel for you, way in the past, I'd lost a job when i was younger and falsely accused of stealing from the shop I was working in. I was shown the door and my confidence was shot to hell. It took me years to accept a job handling money. That day, I went home and didn't leave my room for 3 days from the shame of it.
That was thankfully a long time ago and moved light years ahead in my career but the memory still lingers.

What you have contributed to the forum was a sense of being there during production, you gave us insigth into the day to day running and atmosphere of the production which helped us in the forum feel part of it.
To have it cost your job is horrible and I feel partially guilty of putting you in that position.
I only wish DNA wasn't so forceful in it's actions, a simple warning would have sufficed. You have contributed to a good general buzz to the movie, DNA have 100% failed to provide fans with reassurance and allowed the negative press build on, also failing to prevent people believing that a Stallone starring sequel is being filmed.
I was staying quiet on that issue because I believed in DNA up to then, now I kind of not sure about them. They have now attacked the people who were generating the positive buzz and kept the Dredd movie firmly in the press, and that attack was on two members of this forum. I see that as an attack on the fans and Dredd. All I can say is when I do see DNA on the screen I will be filled with anger.
In the end, there is a human cost, and that cost was to Michael's reputation and confidence.
All I can say is I'm sorry and hope they will cop on to their stupid actions! They have alienated the real fans!!!!!

Alrighty lads..

It happened. I need to wind my neck in, as I received a massive (and justified) bollocking over images.

It's back to snippets of text and no more piccies from me.
That's fucking brainless on the studio's part, if they would work with the fans in releasing some bits and pieces it would satisfy us.
Not sure what was in the gun pictures to get the studio all thick about them that we'd had seen from the Dredd picture itself. Michaelvk, thanks for your input, kind of shows you had the foresight to create support for the project through the fanbase which the studio so far has failed to do.

Not sure what to say about Crave's blog, but it has done far more good in raising awareness of the movie project than DNA has so far. Its simple duty was to collect what is out in the public domain and tie it into one site. Nothing bad in my opinion.
Crave maybe you should host it in this forum and see if they would go and order Rebellion to take the thread down. Bet that would go down like a lead balloon.
DNA has left a bad taste in my mouth now, you turn on the supporting fans is not the way to go.
