Why can't Wagner add new stuff from time to time? Would you prefer it if all his ideas were set out in the very first story and then he never ever added or developed anything in the strip again? It would get a bit boring if he did. It's not as if there was ever a story where he definitively said that Alpha CAN'T do that with his eyes.

The four years of Dredd stories isn't a quote from anywhere, it's just that I've noticed that several Dredd storylines in the past seem to have been told in cycles of about four or five years or so. Eg: McGruder's mental problems (1990-1994), DeMarco's love affair with Dredd (1995-1999), main Democracy story (from Hester Hyman to Referendum, 1986-1991). Just a trend, which if it continues means we can expect a few more years of repercussions following the story which just finished this week.

I have no idea what happened in Dredd this week. Kid gets arrested and woman ends up in a block of jelly? I admit, I haven't been enjoying this particular story anyway, apart from the rumblings in the background of the mutant storyline, but this was an arseways final episode.

The rest, mostly good, strange to see Stickleback with black hair. Also, is the Sharpe in this ep supposed to be the same character that Sean Bean played? Just so's I can get it straight in me head....

Kingdom I think has been becoming more and more cinematic. That panel where Gene throws his blade like a spinning disc-o'-death, I just thought "I want to see that happen on screen". I'm sondering how the hell Leezee is supposed to survive that explosion though.

You're at the precipice Tony, of an enormous crossroads.

Fuck Ferrero Rocher at the ambassador's party - this is what I'm talking about: more top prog-age from the House of Tharg.

Judge Dredd & His Magic Purple Daystick is just sublime stuff: bringing in all these characters from all the history of Dredd's world, and managing to make it one of the most important storylines ever.  It's mad juggling - one minute you get focussed on perhaps the best criminal in Mega-City One, the next on Judge Dredd's awareness of his own humanity, the next on Beeny's first major case.  Wow.

Stickyback - hurrah for the title character actually appearing in his own story at centre stage, and bollocks to the morality police.  It's like The Sopranos, sort of.  Half the interest is viewing someone who you could never be, and how easy it is to feel sympathy for someone who is at  times a cold-blooded murderer.

Kingdom Cum - still my favourite, although there have  been two weeks of solid action without much driving forward of the plot. Will he escape?  Will the end be him, Leezee and her tick-thing walking off into the wilderness?

Strontium Dogging - I shouldn't read this board.  Despite the really obvious foreshadowing I hadn't realised that the lumpy one was going to dob them in until I read it here.

Letters Page - now we know the population!  And it's official and everything!

Terror Tales - honestly, I've forgotten it.

I wasn't criticizing, (although the above might not have been directed at me.) I was genuinely enquiring as to how far the telekinetic ability extends since it's not something he uses that often. I haven't read much of the older Strontium Dog stories, although I'll probably pick up the SD files at some point.

Oops. Imagine the first paragraph above in italics or quoted. "". I used the blockquote tag but either made a mistake or it's not used here.

Steve Green

I don't think it's telekinesis as much as controlling electrical impulses.

He can read a man's mind, so it's not much of a stretch.

The only x/html tags that are allowed are (I think), <a>, <b>, <i> & <img>, plus there's the proprietary <spoiler> tag.

So, it's completely impossible to do this.

Cover: Hmmm, white. This cover is the one that sold me on the new logo as it really stands out on the shelf when the image is as vague as this. Good Stuff for the image, Bad Stuff for suitability as a cover, so it evens out at OK Stuff.

Dredd: Is this one of the classic Dredd stories? The image of PJ plotting JP's demise with crayons is brilliant. Really Great Stuff.

Stickleback: The zombie death is cool an all, but this is just as dull as the rest of this tale. "That devil's a mystery wrapped in an enigma". Thanks for that, I never would of guessed. This strip is only slightly more good than its most famous soundalike Nickleback. Yeah, I went there. OK Stuff.

Kingdom: I preferred it when we didn't know what was in the box, but I cannot dispute the quality of this strip, although this episode could do with some backgrounds. Very Good Stuff.

Terror Tales: Not keen on the art, but the script is interesting enough. Feels like a bit of a stock tale, but that's not always a bad thing. Good Stuff.

Strontium Dog: Old school thrillage that still feels fresh. Very Good Stuff.

He's only trying to be what following how his dreams make you wanna be, man!
