That Mills chap says some interesting things: but in a blog post about writing, he could have used some paragraphs, shurely?

Bad news: just like in Inferno, the perps were immune to molten lava!

Good news: Judge Dredd is feeling relaxed after his standard ten.

Referencing the article "One man who made history" by another who seems just to make it up: Boris on Churchill.

The author is at pains to point out how clumsy Boris is (which was never in doubt, shurely?), only to be very clumsy themselves with this comment: "Hitler did not plan to kill the disabled, as he claims: most of the disabled in Germany in the 1930s were war veterans."

I begs to differs (as the Gronk might say).  I don't know if Adolf had a soft spot for war vets, but his gang certainly didn't like hereditary disabilities (or diseases), and had a program of sterilization and euthanasia in place in a (mass murderous) attempt to homogenize the gene pool.

There really is nothing cuddly about Adolf, including the presented notion that it might be amusing to watch him put the finishing touches to his swastika and thus present him as a sort of bumbling Mr Bean like character.  Threadjacking, not bootjacking.  Please.

Won't somebody think of the straight white males for a change?  Let's call them SWMs for short, because I think I can better be a part of the gang if I use lots of obscure acronyms.  MAGA despite the SJWs!

Why only today I read on the news that a SWM* security guard was accidentally shot dead by the cops because when they arrived on the scene they assumed he was the nutter when actually he was kneeling on the nutter's back.

*Actually he was black and his sexuality is irrelevant regarding what occurred, but I'm sure you take my point.

And straight people aren't allowed to get married anymore or have kids, or be white, or be male, or get jobs, or avoid being racially profiled by vegan supremacists!  All because of comic creators.

Etc.

The fundamental flaw shared by capitalism corporatism (fascism) and communism is that both systems are presided over by a tiny fraction of greedy wazzocks pretending to have the right to dictate how things go and supported by great masses pretending to be inferior.

But bullets are not imaginary.

This is a weird era for me: I was wandering around Oz for a year and got back to a pile of progs.  So, it wasn't a week-in, week-out kind of thing.

I remember liking Chronocide & Darkness Visible quite a bit.  I don't remember Venus on the Frag Shell: so much of that era of Rogue (or Friday, or Venus) seems like a lot of military jargon, quite cool in a way but lacking any heart.

The Pit was a great idea.  Kid Cyborg I disliked: not my cup of tea in either art style or story.

But we're heading for the recovery aren't we?  Sin Dex?

For dictator humor, I prefer springtime.

Which reminded me of revolutionaries.

In the murky world of media manipulation that is today's White House, some of the press are commenting that the fandango around banning a CNN reporter is better news (for Trumpet) to have around than:

1. Losing control of the House in the mid-terms
2. Sacking Sessions in a bid to stifle corruption investigations
3. Sending in the military to stop a refugee caravan that you've labeled a crime wave

There are plenty of reasons to be cynical about US politics, but winning control of the House puts something in the way of the Trump steamroller.  Things didn't just get even worse.

Our Washington state managed to pass a gun control law.   (We did fail on the carbon tax, though.)
