A Love Like Blood...The Movie?

Hi everyone! Long time reader, first time poster, blah blah...
I was reading on the teletext film pages that Kate Beckinsale has signed up to play a vampire in forthcoming flick 'Underworld'. Apparently, in a, 'twist on Romeo and Juliet' she falls for a werewolf, and they begin an affair in secret to stave off reprecussions from their warring species. Sounds suspiciously like A Love Like Blood, which ran in recent(ish) progs, yet there's no mention of 2000AD and it has a different title. So, Thargy boy, or any knowledgable Earthlets, is this an official adaptation of the strip, or should the Great Green One send a Rigellian Hotshot stateside?

It could make a pretty good movie. A love like blood would have been better if it was longer but that's the way it is theese days. Hopefully blade will be in it.
