Messing about in PS and came up with this

"Change! Change, O form of man!

Release the might from fleshy mire!

Boil the blood in heart of fire!

Gone! Gone! -- the form of man --

Rise, the Demon Etrigan!!"

It's all right, that's in every contract.
That's what they call a sanity clause.

I rediscovered this pencil drawing this afternoon and worked into it with Photoshop (while watching Red Dwarf - pleasant evening, really).
It's not often that I return to a 10 year old sketch that got passed over by Tharg at Dreddcon, but there's something about this mech that appeals to me. I'm thinking the nebula stuff is a bit too obvious (for want of a better expression). As much as I'm loving the drawing/ collage thing, I still want to be able to do some pure ink work like Danbo's Dredd. I'm defo using the multimedea to remove attention from poor penwork.

Too tired to keep up the analysis. Bedtime... Oh, and I suppose I should actually post the damn image.

If anyone's got any advice I'd be happy to take notes.

By the way Flip - how do you get the dotted fill effect going? I've wanted to do something like that for ages.

Howdo mate, loving your Mek, the way I get the dots is colour on separate layers then Filter- Pixelate- Colour Halftone each colour in turn. Not really sure if this is the correct way to do, but it's the only way I know.

Thanks. That's probably as good as any. I wanted a way of simulating the old mechanical tint effect.

JTurner - it's a lovely image. No advice to offer here. It might not have been right for 2000AD but it's still good on its own account.

Did yez see the Kirby influenced stuff Bagwell's been doing lately? Uses a similar effect:
