What sort of sauce? (oo-er missus). The mash looks nicely mashed.

Wow- 100% of the photographic evidence so far does show you don't know how to hold a fork!  ;)

Best thread for weeks. Keep up the good work. I would've liked to counter with a picture of myself in the chicken and cider place but it appears the woman I was there with (and am no longer with) has removed it from public view.

If you're interested, I took a series of photos documenting the six days of shame last month when we had to eat lunch from takeaway boxes because the dishwasher in the canteen was broken.
We never really die.

Brown sauce - probably something on a beaumachel basis but when I get a menu and I see 'pollo' I'm usually done looking. The mash was great - more a puree as it was like semolina but a good chew free side. I also like the oil and vinegar they splash about for a dipper for your bread.

Cheers Pete - faint praise perhaps but I'm having it! Her loss - let her scamper off with her photos of shame.

Please do post your grub based pics - seeing as everyone eats and some people have cameras there must be plenty of pics across the board to keep us entertained.

Time for pudding (bunching them in case I get accused of only having one shirt!). Went to a nice bar called Cuidad Invisible (The Invisible City - bullshit I totally saw it). This chap looks a bit the worse for wear but check that marvelous fork work. This appears to be a waffle and cream but I have no memory of having eaten it.

I LOVE the dessert photo, and not only cos I love me some dessert. No more importantly you have a different expression, on just about all the photos I've ever seen of Buttonman you have the same expression. I've avoided commenting in case some horrible nerve condition had fixed your face cheeky, almost sardonic grin and now at last by fears have been put aside...

... dessert, a little disappointed as when I first saw it I thought it was chocolate bread and butter pudding, but still looks good.

Beautiful forkwork on the dessert there. Buttonman you look like you're contemplating reality whilst deciding whether to eat the delicious waffle. Like human kind searching, yet caught between philosophy and the down to earth nitty gritty of existence. :geek:

Or perhaps you'd just had alot of cidre.

The potato and mash dish looks divine. Anything a bit cheesy on it?

What did you Mum tell you about playing with that under the table at mealtimes?

I have been accused of having a 'photo face' that I put on. We all do it. I mean look in the mirror and get an acceptable face - you then take that muscle memory and use it for each photo so that you don't come out looking like a mental. We do all do that, don't we?

No, but it was creamy. I do like a bit of spring onion in my mash too. They used to have a place called 'Monster Mash' in Glasgow which specialised in mash but it has since shut - no way could it compete with the Glasgow salad (bag of chips).

What she did tell me was to avoid talking to strange men so I'm outta here.

Not all grub stops are of the gourmet variety but still merit a photo or twelve. This is still Madrid but we got the cable car to this country park / Fairground (closed) and had a nice bit of grub awaiting the next car home. This jolly chap is enjoying a full portion of the tapas favourite 'Patatas Bravas'. These are small cubes of fried potato covered in a tangy tomato sauce and mayonnaise.

This version was a bit 'fast food' but still a tasty treat. Our hero also enjoys a large Mahon beer which came with a free hat, that he has perched on his large head.
