Soooo without wading through this whole thread...  what's the current state of play with the TV series?

Hasn't been any news for a few weeks as far as I know.   The last news I've seen was the 2 concept pictures.

Oh dear. Ominously quiet?

To be fair, it was only announced it was going into development and they did stress at the time that it would be at least a couple of years before there was much to tell or show of it.

Not at all. Recentthrillcast from San Diego has a chap talking about how he really can't talk about it but it is in development  (minus the hell part).
Be excellent to each other. And party on!

As long as it's being developed in Hell or not. Two years though, there could be a nuclear war and survivors huddling in mega cities ruled by fascists overlords by then.
The Justice department has a good re-education programme-it's called five to ten in the cubes.

It'll save on FX budget...

"In 2019, a television series based on 2000AD is due to be shown on Netflix. It was with that production company, and using his personal wealth from Rebellion, that Modern History is being made."

Trying to cut down on salt, pinch ofs or otherwise.

Not true, I'm afraid. Not sure where the journalist has gotten this from, probably from the fan speculation earlier last year.

Thought it would be the case, knowing how these things get regurgitated.

Has Urban's recent casting as the lead in a new Amazon series Butcherd the chances he'll be on board for this?

MattJW

Indeed!

After the initial rush of certainty and enthusiasm for DREDD on TV, things have gone very quiet...

And Urban's commitment to this other new project doesn't bode well....

Of course, this does not mean an excellent alternative actor cannot be found. Far from it......

Bolt-01

hmm... The way I understand it, the show is called Mega-City One so Dredd would only ever be a part of that. I would imagine that as much as we'd like to have Karl in every week- it just isn't 'that' show.

No news is sometimes just no news- I'd rather that the studio took their time and got the scripts and the 'feel' of the show right.
