Apologies if there's already a thread discussing this.  Conducted a search, but couldn't find anything that stood out.  Moderators - feel free to merge if that's not the case, etc.

Does anyone have any info on when volume 3 of the Daily Dredds will see publication?  And could someone refresh my memory on how many volumes will be required to cover the complete run of strips?

Cheers,
Craig.

Those last two italiced stories I suspect mightnt fit - would need to do more space maths to work it out, but somewhere around this point would probably be the max?

Krakajac

Thanks for the info!  Looking forward to its release at some point.

To answer your question on how many volumes, there are somewhere in the region of 3,700 daily strips (the numbering goes to wack - cant remember if this makes it more or less, but assuming thereabouts). So after a volume 3 completes the Wagner/Grant stuff, I suspect we would need another 2 of pure Millar/Mckenzie stuff, then another final volume where Diggle/Rennie/Morrison get involved, making 6 volumes in all?

Krakajac

Right.  That's a massive collection.  :o

sheridan

Looking forward to having the complete collection (maybe with the Metro Dredds and News of the World Ron Smith adaptation at the end?)

I know the quality will dip at a few points, but still want the lot!

Richard

I hated the Metro Dredd, it was an abomination.

What was the News of the World thing? Not heard of it before.

It's all right, that's in every contract.
That's what they call a sanity clause.
You can't fool me, there ain't no sanity clause.

Once the movie adaptation had finished it seemed the plan was to tell new stories. 4 episode of Bludd Feud were created (possibly 5). They eventually appeared in #11 & 12 of Lawman of the Future. A 5th wrap-up episode appeared in #13, though this may have been commissioned especially for LotF.

Richard

Blimey. There's no reason for any of that to see the light of day again.

I think I might finally have found the answer to "where should I draw the line and NOT buy a Judge Dredd comic strip ".

Woolly

Oh I dunno, I'd give my right arm to have a reprint of the Carlos drawn movie adaption.

Carlos' art good, colouring abysmal.
